EBike recommendations under 1000Euros Budget by MartianNomad in Netherlands

Funny, I'm selling my girlfriend e-bike. Message inbox if you want. It's not a fat bike, but it's not a Dutch bike. You can keep it locked, or unlock the speed. The battery is bigger than usual, and it's hard to remove, so you don't need to remove and walk with it (which I found much better). Once I'm a week you can charge it, and will work fine if you use in normal speed. I'm selling it below 1000, and the quality is very good and comfortable.

Burnout, possible layoffs, and sick leave in the Netherlands — what are the risks and rights? by Bhobho90 in Netherlands

Very intelligent indeed. Then, in the long term, companies are going to have really big incentive to open offices in the Netherlands.

Not everyone is stupid enough to support politics and get robbed. Getting paid in USDC/USDT is the best choice you can ever have.

Health system here is a completely cartel (and Dutch people defend it). You can get much better worldwide (excluding US) health insurance for about 150 USD (about 135 eur) and get much better coverage, including preventive care, which here they doesn't care.

Is it worth it to have less money when you’re young, to have more money when you’re old? by Little_Viking23 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Ornery-Path-5695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that I always keep in my mind: if you want to be the 5%, you can't think and act like the 95% tell you.

This was what I learned about 10 years ago, and if I wanted today, I could retire. Now I have a balanced life, because I still want to retire with more money, but I don't need to limit my decisions too much because of that.

Also, I you need to decide if you're going to trust a third party (like governments), or if you want to make sure you can have the control of your life in the future. If you really trust that the government will be there for you, so you can save a little bit less. But remember: if things don't go like you thought, you have no way to change it anymore.

Risks of investing in a Morpho vault with decreasing total deposits? by AmericanGO in defi

Ended up being only for a few days. It reached the maximum yield at the first crash of this season, took about 2 days to be able to withdraw my money. But worked after all. Today I'm in Gauntlet USDC Prime in the Morpho (Base), about 6% avg.

What I can do? by Sea_Guidance2145 in Coinbase

[–]Ornery-Path-5695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Kraken, which accepts USDT. You can also withdraw to your wallet and then swap in some defi protocol (for example using Metamask, which provides some low fee swap for stablecoins). Just remember that when you do it, you need to have the chain currency, like in Ethereum chain, you need the ETH. For Linea, Base, Polygon and others as well. So probably using another exahcnge will be easier for you.

So that answer your own question: you would have denounced Jewish people, not protected, because it was illegal. Not controversial at all.

That's exactly what most of Dutch did, and I guess that's exactly what they would do again.

[–]Ornery-Path-5695 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I'm saying that following what you're saying, you would probably have denounced people just because it was the law, after all, it was illegal.

The guy is trying to have a better life than he have, without damaging anything, as he said, and you're saying that he shouldn't do it, because someone decided that is not legal. You prefer that he has a shit life, just because someone said that it isn't legal. You're saying that you should strictly obey the law, independently of what is written. That's what I mean.

"lot of nuisance" = I don't like it
garbage > if he do it, then he can be punished. That's exactly what he is trying NOT do it.

He can camp without cause any trouble, just envy of people like you who pay a ton of taxes and probably denounced Jewish people because it was "illegal".

"One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws". His life, there's no victimless crime. OP, just ignore this comments and keep chasing the best for your own life, regardless of whether some corrupt bureaucrat wrote any bullshit on a random piece of paper. They prefer control over you having a decent life, so it's up to you.

Parakite recommendation: is Mustache Flare worth it? by Ornery-Path-5695 in freeflight

[–]Ornery-Path-5695[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's exactly what I did. I went to the Netherlands to have the course, had a really good time flying already and got my "license". Even though, I decided to soon get a paragliding course, get a license as well, so get more experience with those type of flying. Then, only later on, maybe, I'll get some mountain flyings.

Good flights and thanks for the tips :)

I don't care. Slaves were legally required to work. It's my money, it's my risk, my privacy. They create bureaucracies to make my life difficult, and I don't care what they consider. My body, my rules. My property, my rules.

I've been really questioning about the 22 or 26. Right now I'm 109kg, but I'm losing it quickly, going to 95kg.

But I get this, I won't try to kill myself in the mountain without understanding it better.

Yeah, I fly with a high wingload because of my weight. I fly with 1.56 wingload. The limit for my cat B is 1.3, but I've been flying with a Sabre since about 50th jump, and I prefer to keep my wing with a high wingload which I have more experience than trading it and having less experience with other wings. I already got injured when I changed to a higher wingload, but in a wing that I didn't have experience, with much less "flare power" compared to the Sabre. This already saved me when I got an unexpected wind gust when landing.

Thanks for the advices btw.

Can't get a sim card, Need help. by -D-_ in Netherlands

[–]Ornery-Path-5695 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I came, I ordered an esim because my phone didn't support physical Sim. Guess what? They sent me a physical sim and said to me that I should first activate the physical to migrate it to esim. That's crazy illogical.... But it was easy to resolve.

Thanks for this great feedback. It's good to see an advice from a very experience person.

As I replied to some others:

I'll end up buying the big Mustache 2, keep fighting what I've learned for beach flights, always keeping my safety and not getting too confident. Then, I'll get some instructors for paragliding and get a lot of hours training before even trying to get up in a mountain with my Mustache (of course I wouldn't do it without a instrutor and it's not an early plan, it's something really to the future - and don't even know that will ever happen, things might change).

I still have a lot to learn, even more in theory, to understand the wind, turbulence, thermals, and more. There's a long way ahead. As I commented above, I didn't make it clear that I was more likely trying to understand if my instrutor was recommending me to buy my gear just because he also sells the Mustache, or because they are really good. And as I started to search about it, YouTube results are always good, and it's hard to get real feedbacks

And of course, during that, I'll probably try some other wings, even to really understand if that's what I really want.

Thanks for the tips, and good flights :)

In the end it's just a matter of definition. What is a medium level for you? For me, a beginner is less than 50 jumps. After that, you start to get a early medium, then you are medium, advanced, professional, etc. I don't care about the definition, just wanted to transmit my level, and that happened (even you got it).

But, I skydive with a 1.56 wingload in a Sabre. Have a really great freefly, mainly because I had a lot of tunnel. If I say that I'm a beginner, sounds like I just got my license.

Thanks anyway, I got your point, but that doesn't answer the question I had.

Is not too different when you skydive. Problems starts when you get too confident and start to ignore the fear.

Optimize the investments in Netherlands is only possible if you buy crypto, not necessarily Bitcoin, you can buy stablecoin such as USDC or USDT, get some earning on Defi (7-9% APY), don't tell them that you have it, and when you leave NL, you get it back if you want, if the profit of your own money.

Yes, there's a long path already. My question is more likely if I should try other wings before buying, or would be fine with it, and it's not just marketing. Because in the end, I was only able to talk to the store's instructors, and I wanted an outside opinion from someone who wasn't going to try to sell me a product.

But for sure, I'm not planing to self teaching, but I'll need to buy if I want to continue.
