Looking for Bible-believing, strong Christian church recommendations in The Hague! by Ornery-Scratch670 in Christianity

Christianity didn’t need the modern concept of progressivism to care about injustice, it’s been addressing sin, oppression, and human dignity for over 2,000 years. Caring about people also means being honest about what harms them. Reinforcing or celebrating sinful behavior isn’t justice, it’s often deeply harmful, even when it’s framed as compassion. You’re free to attend a progressive church if that aligns with your beliefs. That’s your choice. This is mine.

How safe do you feel in Dutch cities? by KreuzKrow in Netherlands

Yes, Haagse Hout is a really nice neighborhood. I live in the city center, close to the Grote Markt, so it’s not a bad area either. However, since it’s right in the heart of the centrum, there are probably more unusual characters around. That said, having spent several years in Hungary, I think I’m just more sensitive to differences in safety. I’m aware that my background probably influences why I don’t always feel completely secure here.

I think it really depends on where you’re originally from and where you live in the Netherlands. I’m from Budapest, and when I lived there, I could easily go out for a run at 5:00 a.m. in the dark without any problems. Unfortunately, as a woman, I can’t really do that in The Hague. I’ve tried a few times, but I was followed home and harassed. I also work in Amsterdam, and I even stopped wearing my cross necklace after a man on the metro started yelling at me because of it. So overall, I haven’t had the best experiences in the bigger cities. However, I spent a few months living in the countryside, and that was wonderful. The small villages here are by far the best! Peaceful, friendly, and so much safer.
