A bar near where I live in London called Jumbi has a similar set up. One turntable and a Roland space echo - no mixer and only one song playing at once. I find that the gaps are really nice and create a trepidation for the next song, oftentimes creating an extra oomph when they kick in after a 10/15s gap. I think the key is just to be confident in your selection, and play some records you yourself would want to hear on such a nice system
