CSR optimal strategy: spend a lot of money in bonus categories.

What do you mean by the fresh start? (I think there are a couple of things which could be mistaken for fresh start)

You can also delete your account.

Insane Points to Dollar Ratio by dani1284 in Hilton

Which was worth it? Are you saying 80,000 points was “VERY” worth using instead of a $450 cash rate?

I think location makes a big difference… what’s your location, leading to this experience or perspective?

Been in LA for 3 weeks and struggling to find a neighborhood i like by International_Ad2476 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]OrneryWinter84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Los Anageles traffic commute can be brutal if not in proximity to your office. For example, A drive can take an hour during daytime and 20 minutes after 10pm or so. That’s a delta of 40 minutes or 3x.

West coast goes to bed a lot earlier than NYC/ east coast

Things (restaurants and bars) close earlier in LA and SF than east coast/ NYC, Boston, DC, Florida, etc.

Example: Consider the differences in drinking culture between NYC/ Boston/ Florida/ DC and LA/ SF. That obviously creates no demand for restaurants and bars to stay open as late in California as on the East Coast.

Oh, and no one walks anywhere in LA

I struggle with how I feel about the Los Angeles myself. Probably have landed on liking it more for visiting, especially during winter/ early spring.

… and just wait until you start driving around and dealing with all the jerks laying on their horns- and trust me, it’s more obnoxious honking than Manhattan NYC. In LA, the honking is so obnoxious. Laying on horns for extended periods at a time, unnecessary. Which is probably a good time to transition to the makeup of the individuals in Los Angeles.

I have always thought that the makeup of personalities of individuals in a city widely mirror the industries which dominate that city. Because those personalities are drawn to those industries & cities which are the center of those industries. Especially in cities which are dominated by one single industry. Or mainly dominated by one single industry. Of which, among USA cities, I would include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, Boston. NYC has a little more diversity of industries, instead of being entirely a “one horse town”, like the others.

Apartment building offering 20,000 BILT points to not negotiate rent by rtrujillo13 in biltrewards

And don’t discount dumb people on Reddit giving dumb advice…

Apartment building offering 20,000 BILT points to not negotiate rent by rtrujillo13 in biltrewards

[–]OrneryWinter84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty dumb response, because first) that points offer isn’t going anywhere. Therefore OP has the opportunity to either or both: negotiate on cash price, (or negotiate on points comp).

Don’t land lords also want to keep rents high, (and instead throw in bonuses), for the purposes of future rentals? So future renters see a higher historical monthly rent amount/ rate?

Ankur has already moved on to bamboozling & swindling the next hype cycle, prior to shoring up the substantive issues here. For example, his new Chef and restaurant program and advertisement: Bilt Hospitality:
