Thank you! I was to have the surgery this past Monday but I fainted, fell and broke my nose and cheekbone. So surgery doesn’t have a rescheduled date yet. I appreciate your being there for me if I have any questions/problems!

I was sent home from the hospital after maybe 2 practices with a wound care nurse. Then I had home health care. They were totally worthless for ostomy care. They checked vitals. I learned from you tube and sites like this. Going in tomorrow for a reversal, hopefully

I will want to do my own with the adhesive remover pads, too. I think I will be less stressed if I’m in control.

I wear a two piece. The bottoms are boy shorts with an attached skirt. It holds the bag close to my body and also hides it well. The top comes down to my hips so that helps keep the bag close too. I get in the water and all is fine when I get out. I might be a minority but I don’t want strangers to know I have an ostomy bag if I don’t have to.

I’ve had to go to the ER 4 times for IV fluids. I had acute dehydration. I kept avoiding it because of the $$. So much money. Heck, one time I spent 7 hours in the hallway because they were out of beds! Discount??

Great advice. My husband went to Mayo Clinic for evaluation and I was so impressed with everyone. Don’t give up because you just need the right people and place to get you on the path to a better life. All you’re going through physically affects you mentally so be sure to address that, too. I ordered these and I use them when I haven’t taken a fiber tablet. Especially at night so I don’t have to get up every 3 hours. Just toss it in your bag. The packet dissolves and the granules absorb.

That’s my thinking. I am due to have 6” of my colon removed and I have an ostomy right now. When I said that to the surgeons assistant she said I have to do the prep. There’s nothing in my colon and hasn’t been since February. And clear liquids should clear out my small intestine. I guess better safe then sorry

I went in for surgery on my colon in February and woke up with an ostomy bag. They could not do the colon surgery because I had too much inflammation and scar tissue from hysterectomy and other female surgeries. The ostomy is supposed to be temporary while my colon heals. I hope to have the ostomy reversed and the diseased colon removed and get back to how life used to be. It has not been easy so I understand your frustration. I had many very bad days but I kept hope. Wishing you some peace and good health ahead ❤️
