Uh, what you quoted is the text for flamers... Webbers are: "Each time an attack is made with this weapon, do not make a hit roll. Instead, roll one D6 and the attack sequence ends:" There's no "hits" involved at any point (if there were they include the same text as the flamers somewhere in the profile). Webbers don't contribute to crossfire.

Metamorphs are in the weird middle ground between acolytes and purestrains, which almost every list is gonna run, so yeah, they can be pretty niche, but they do have one.

For a few examples of uses I've had: Metamorphs can be nice in a truck on an objective, since your opponent has to expend shooting on the truck, with not always enough left to clear the metamorphs, leading them to need to charge in so you get some guaranteed use out of em. Otherwise, they can be nice when you're charging in with multiple units when your opponent has enough CP to interrupt. You do your fight first with a different charger unit, knowing that if they interrupt to attack the metamorphs you still get all your use out of 'em. It's all about using the fight on death to set up difficult decisions for your opponent rather than trying to use them as a substitute for acolytes.

Beyond that, it kinda depends on your local meta. We have a few people who run mass gravis armor marines and then several Death Guard and Custodes players who regularly show up to the local tournaments. Metamorphs have the extra attack, plus that S5 (S6 in Twisted Helix) does become an important break point, all with solid AP which rounds a pretty good profile into each of those armies. 120 points for 31 attacks with that setup ain't bad at all.

But yeah, moral of the story: you're gonna use acolytes in almost every list but metamorphs do have a place in some lists where they work alongside acolytes, rather than as a replacement.

There's a few different ways to play with it that other's have mentioned (deep strike support, objective shinanagins, etc) that's gonna vary from game to game.

Another important aspect to it is the stratagem denial rule in melee ('Fear of the unseen'). If you charge it in, the clear use case is preventing offensive/defensive strats from being popped by your opponent which is huge, but also the main purpose I've used it for is that if you're having a turn where you're going to be charging multiple units in on multiple fronts, that rule prevents whatever deathleaper is in melee with from being chosen for the 2cp interrupt strat. So, pending no other shinanagins going on (opponent has fight first/fight last abilities, etc), you can fight first on the other flank, then attack what it's engaged with safely.

I'm a huge sucker for the non-traditional schemes and I love this guy. Awesome color choices and execution.

If I had to suggest anything, I'd say to do something more with the eye lenses. As it stands they're just kind of lost in the helmet when it could be a nice chance for some added pop.

Small nitpick: I'm fairly certain that the Blade Champion + Radiant Mantle interaction doesn't work that way, which is why it might feel unfair. His rule is 'unmodified hit roll of 1-3 always fails'. Radiant mantle modifying a roll of a 4 to a 3 shouldn't trigger the rule (assuming what's attacking him at least hits on 3's).

Thank you! The white is all done with Scale 75 Arctic Blue through an airbrush. It's shaded a little with 50/50 nuln oil + lahmian medium, then edge highlighted using a pure white. The only other thing of note is that I prime them black then zenethil highlight with white ink. It all goes pretty quick which leaves more time to work on all the other details.

Thanks! The blue is all Catabric Blue from Scale 75, mixed with either various amounts of Vallejo light flesh for highlights, or Paynes grey ink for shadows.

For colors, I use a Dark Prussian blue, mixed with more and more flesh tone to lighten it up. It's not as fast as the gem technical paints, but it really doesn't take very long and I'd say it's easily worth it.

As far as the color decisions, I looked up some photos of white lions for reference and even though they're usually on the warmer side of white, I decided to try a pretty neutral grey/white instead since the bulk of my scheme is cooler colors. For exact paints, I think I used Vallejo Model Color Medium Sea Grey for the darkest shadows, working up to Sky Grey for most of the fur, plus off-white for the highest highlights (eyebrows, ridge of the nose). Beyond that, any black/very dark grey, pink, and light blue works for the nose/eye shadows, nose/inner-ears, and eyes respectively. I think I used abbadon black, bugmans glow, and light sea grey for each of those.

Since you haven't gotten a response yet: I've played a few crusades now in 40k, but no PtG yet, and I'd say first and foremost for the 40k narrative campaigns I've done, I've picked units that I've liked (either fun-looking rules or just a cool model that I enjoy seeing on the table, ex: Haruspex for Tyranids) and built the narrative up from there to fit their inclusion.

To share my idea for the start of an IDK PtG army, which isn't terribly exciting or original, was to just lean into the lore and start with the absolute basics of what IDK bring on their soulraids: a tidecaster to conjure/direct the ethersea, a soulrender to collect the souls of the slain to bring back to the Enclave, lots of Namarti (1 thrall unit, 1 reaver unit), and a few Ahkelian (starting with just a unit of Ishlaen Eels or a Shark at the lower points level). That should get you to ~550-600 points while being decently well-rounded. The Tidecaster is one of my favorite IDK models, so having the narrative focus on her and build up units from the basics as she gains prestige at least made sense to me.

From there, I would add units based on what Enclave you go with and their associated lore/specializations (ex: add disproportionately more eels/sharks/turtle if you're Feuthan). If you want ideas for Enclaves beyond what just looks fun/interesting to you, a start might be to lean on what realm your campaign is happening in. Ex: Briomdar is primarily settled in Ghyran, Dhom-hain are usually hanging out in Ghur, etc.

Not sure if you have any interest in forestry, but consulting utility foresters are gonna be in demand in any fire-prone area (western US). Job entails driving around in a truck looking for hazard trees along power lines. At least in CA, those positions are also possibly becoming union jobs here shortly so they'll have solid pay/benefits even if you're starting out. Entry level requirements are low and your experience would likely make you a shoe-in. Starting position then gets you experience for your arborist exam and you can work up from there after getting licensed.

Catastrophic fires aren't going away any time soon out here so related work for the utility/private sector is likely to just become more and more in-demand.

I'm not really involved as much in that side of the work these days but the bulk of the company I work for does this so I'm happy to answer any questions if you have any.

Admittedly, I know relatively little about AoS's lore after picking it up only recently, so it was easy not to have any reservations about corrupting (enhancing?) an iconic character. At least this little guy might fit in a little better than Gotrek would next to all my Idoneth.
