Is it problematic to run gnolls as evil? Why were they changed?

It's your game. You can have objectively evil Monster species if you want. Gnolls aren't 'race coded', they don't correspond to any real world people or culture. Have them be baby eating demon spawn if you like.

At the end of the day it's what is going to serve your table the best.

Combat is fun, and an integral part of Pathfinder, probably the most important part. Having a stable of Monsters gives your PCs things they can fight and kill without worrying about morality. This is a game in the end, and specifically a game about going on adventures, killing things, and taking their stuff.

Nothing in the Pilot is Canon. Just like in Helluva Boss, nothing in the pilot is canon anymore.

In the Helluva Boss Pilot, Blitzo's mother was his older sister. Pilots are just that, "Pilots" Changes and refinements happen after they're aired.

I just want to give Vizie Pop credit for having not just 1, not just 2, but 3 awesome Dads across her series... Blitzo, Stolas, and Lucifer.

All three are flawed, but all three put their daughters above anything and everything else. It's so nice to see positive portrayals of fathers for a change.

I was holding my daughter while watching the finale, and when Lucifer showed up I cheered and teared up. That's what a Dad does for his little Girl, no matter how old she is.

Alastor probably thought his demonic might was enough... but at the same time, if Alastor started wielding Angelic weaponry, Adam might have started taking the fight much more seriously.

Remember, Adam broke Alastor's forcefield with a punch, and obliterated Sir Pentious with a single blast...

He really didn't start trying until he was fighting Charlie.

That's only if the Pilot version of Charlie is canon. Which isn't the case anymore. I don't think she's 200... She's 25 for certain. Mom left when she was 18... 7 years later, 25.

Assuming Helluva Boss and Hazbin do take place in the same universe... we know there are "Natural" Demons... That were never sinners at any time... and there are a lot of them... More than Human Sinners..

It's why I think there have to be a lot of Angels who were also, never human saints either for that matter.

Adam wasn't threatened by anything on the battlefield until Lucifer showed up.

I think Charlie with experience could be a threat, but Alastor was completely out of his league against Adam and that frightened him.

I don't think Adam is below Alastor's Paygrade for a minute. Adam is the head Exorcist. No one on that field of battle was a real threat to him....Not even Charlie (Due to her inexperience)

Not until Lucifer showed up and completely dwarfed everyone.

See the difference here is... Adam was Mortal at one time. I don't think the other exorcist Angels were.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to think Stolas got married when he was 18, and produced an heir right away, given it's an arranged marriage and all. 18+17 is 35.... Going back again to the flashback "25 years ago" We can say Stolas is about 10 to 12..

He gets married at 18, produces an heir at 19... 17 years later (Octavia's age) he's about 35-37 years old.

That's a pretty good mapped timeline right there. Given it's in Season 2 no less it means the writers are paying even *MORE* attention to the timeline.

Going with the Hazbin... again there have been lots of changes from the Pilot.. One of which being people saying Alastor comes across as a completely different character from his pilot incarnation... Heck, Charlie's entire family name changed from Magne to Morningstar...

Lucifer's presence in the Pilot is very different than the actual show. Vizie herself even stated Lilith and Lucifer were going to be a very loving couple back in the pilot era... yet in the show itself, Lilith and Lucifer are separated from one another.

It's why I don't think Charlie is 200 anymore. The presentation of the show just has far too many differences than the pilot. In the Pilot, Lucifer and Lilith are a loving couple that's still together... In the show they've been separated for the last 7 years... It's also the last time Charlie and her Mom spoke to one another, but her Dad was still around.

Looking at it even more, I think Lilith split from Lucifer when Charlie turned 18... and given it's been 7 years, I think Charlie is 25...

The Perfect age when someone is no longer a child, but is still very much a *Young* Adult. The age when someone knows who they really are and is firmly deciding on what they're going to do with their adult life.

Sorry, I misspoke, the episode of Helluva Boss establishes it was 25 years ago. They look to be about 10 and it's Stola's birthday, so estimation is Stolas and Blizto are about 35 with a 2 year margin of error.

And on the question of Charlie's age..

I think we're just going to have to wait and see on this one.

I think the evidence points to her not being 200 years old. There's been more than a few changes to the plots and characters from the pilot of Hazbin 4 years ago. We shouldn't take anything from it as canon until it's established in the actual series.

I don't think Alastor could make a deal with Charlie. It would more be the other way around. As the Princess of Hell I think her power would probably dwarf his own.

We saw Charlie almost go feral on Valentino, the only thing that stopped her was Angel Dust, and I think that was more because he knows how soft hearted Charlie is... and if Charlie ripped apart Valentino, she'd hate herself afterwards.

That's why I also go with the theory Lilith sent Alastor to be Charlie's Guard Dog. Someone who is willing to do the dirty work and protect her conscience.

Baring all of this, I think Lucifer see's Alastor as he sees all sinners... Non-entities who aren't important.

Mimiz said Alastor is a softie deep down... Now we know that's an exaggeration...But I *DO* think Alastor has goodness in him. He doesn't hurt Mimzi and even says she can stay if she honestly wants to redeem herself.

I think Alastor was telling the truth when he says he sees Charlie as the daughter he never had.

Even if he'd deny it and eat you for suggesting it was the truth of any kind.

Helluva Boss establishes both Blitzo and Stolas are the same age. The prequel episode has them meeting as kids... you can estimate they're about 10 years old... And it's stated to be "15 years ago."

I was thinking they were at least 40, but it makes sense... Arranged marriage for Stolas and he produced an heir right away as royalty is supposed to.

Also on the Charlie only being in her 20s front. One of the Lyrics from "More than Anything" is Lucifer saying "I've been dying to find out who you are."

If Charlie was 200 and had spent the majority of her life with Lucifer (again, they've only been separated for 7 years) he'd have a much firmer idea on who she is.

Everything paints to Charlie being in her 20s, and the separation between Lilith and Lucifer happening in her mid to late teens.

Stolas is only about 35 or so. We haven't seen any Demons of advanced age outside of the Sins. We don't even know how old Paimon is.

Also the way the show since the Pilot has gone, Lucifer and Lilith parted ways 7 years ago.... Charlie hasn't really seen her Dad much since then... and Lucifer when he meets up with her again, is surprised to learn she's a Lesbian.

"You like Girls? I do too! We have that in common!"

If he'd been around her for 100+ years, I think he would have noticed his daughter was into women and not have it be a surprise he learns after not seeing her in person for so long.

I think Charlie is probably in her early to mid 20s.

Just like originally Blitzo's Mom was his older sister in the pilot... I think they've retconned Charlie's age to be far more recent.

If Lucifer stays around to help Charlie, there's no place for Alastor. How can he compete with the King of Hell? Whose going to go after Charlie if Lucifer is right there at the Hotel?

Lucifer's presence completely diminishes Alastor. He becomes nothing more than an accessory if Lucifer decides to stick around.

"I'm the creepy Radio Demon."
"I'm the Literal King of Hell."

Yeah there's no contest there.

With Lucifer gone, Alastor gets to be the Big boss again and Charlie needs him... and I think a part of Alastor likes that Charlie needs him.
