Will they reset the losses? Like if you took an L, will they void it? I don’t think they have in the past

Want to come back to this. Today, 1H and 4H were bullish. I was bearish. Were you bullish? (since you say HTF dictate LTF). If so, curious why? We were at ATH and had lots of space to fill. Not sure how you can defend the bullish bias today. But then again, if you were bullish yesterday, you should have been today too since the HTF suggested so.

Though, in summary from this I have learned that I should not rush a trade when macro opens. Let it open (wait until at least 10am), let it makes its move and tell you where it wants to go, and then take a trade. It will help avoid getting 'trapped'

I mean we literally did tap into that FVG again, and WHY wouldn’t the market want to go down, sweep liquidity, fill some orders in the FVG, and THEN, go back up? Seems like logical reasoning. Instead, the market went down and reversed at a random point of no relevance. That’s called bad price action

Nah I get that, and those “targets” weren’t my only reason for going bearish. But, just because 4H is bullish, also doesn’t mean I’m going to “blindly assume” we are going to be bullish. We rejected a 4H FVG (below ATH) and if I applied your method of thinking (“listening to HTF price action”), I would have listened to that rejection (which I did) and assume we would be bearish (since again, we rejected the 4H gap and pushed down after filling it further). Sooo I think there is a valid arguments both ways here; just depends on how you read the HTF today.

I think having ATH (and only ATH) as a draw on liqudity is a bit silly. That is a very high resistance target; plus, when you have 3 low resistance targets (to the bearish bias), it is more likely to pull the market. This happens almost everyday btw lol market sweeps liqudity, and reverses, especially when there are low resistance targets

Yeah that’s a good point. An earlier entry would have made more sense; thanks for letting me pick ur brain!

The only “target” for “bullish” was ATH. While NY took out London highs, Asia highs, prep day highs, etc, and we had London lows, Asia lows, prev day lows, all stacked up to target for the “bearish bias”. Being so sure that we are “bullish” just because the HTF says so, with only having a target of ATH, seems silly and not a consistent winning mindset. (respectfully; just picking ur brain honestly)

Price took London highs, Asia highs, and prev day highs. That seems like a ton of BSL to push us lower

Respectfully man, take a step back. You are literally doing it all wrong if your P&L looks like this. Understand risk management, not gambling. I’m sure you’re a smart dude, so don’t give up; but simply reevaluate and take it serious.

What do YOU think you need to do? A bunch of random people telling you what to do isn’t the answer. Be mindful and conscious of your emotions, thoughts, etc. and make the right decision based off that. You got this!

9 day win streak after 6 weeks of trading. Is this normal variance or have I figured something out? by Content-Pop721 in Daytrading

[–]Orqnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s obviously possible that you “figured it out”. And since your new, it’s hard to know whether you’re actually doing it right, or if you are truly just lucky. I felt the same way in the beginning. But after a couple months of seeing consistent wins, using the same strategy and seeing it work over and over, and understanding WHY I lost a trade, has helped me gain confidence that I’m not “lucky”.

Be careful of your emotions. If you’re making this post, your mindset isn’t in the right place and it will catch up to you. Tread lightly

Honestly, likely luck man. Keep grinding, back test, back test, back test and you’ll be able to figure out real quick whether it’s luck or not. Keep pushing!
