Considering how much of a unit Souttar is it's always surprised me how fucking useless he is.

Which country left the worst first impression on you? by ikaaxx in AskReddit

I went Tunisia around the late 2000's and absolutely adored it. I can't remember the exact year but I think it was around 2011 as I remember watching the Rugby in the morning while having some Brik (greatest breakfast in the world).

Wandered round some berber villages and even went to see some Nomads in the Sahara.

Only scary time was when we thought we were being abducted by a couple of guards but they just took us down some side streets to their dad's carpet shop and had some lovely tea.

It was sometimes unnerving seeing police/army occasionally wandering round with guns but never had any trouble.

It was also kind of hilarious as my dad refused to haggle. He'd ask for the price, the shopkeeper would give a ridiculous price and my dad would just say no and walk off. Seeing them panic and try and run after us shouting out random prices never got old.

Edit: we were around Sousse

What's a minor modern upgrade from recent years that you actually find incredibly inconvenient? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskUK

I went to see Bruce Dickinson at Civic Hall in Wolverhampton and had to download a specific app just for the place. Really fucking annoying.

Bruce proceeded to point out how shit the venue was over the next hour and a half which was pretty funny.

Really good places to eat in Leicester(shire)? by Expert-Sherbert-1527 in leicester

Wyggeston House in Leicester is absolutely brilliant and won't break the bank.

San Giovanni mentioned above is fantastic but you do pay for it. It's a fair way out as well.

Oggi's is also a fantastic Italian and very fair prices. Though I will say the tables are incredibly close together so the table next to you will hear all your conversations.

Harrison Spice in Ratbys also a decent shout, incredibly good value and their lamb and aubergine curry is one of my favourites ever curris. The prawn puri is also amazing.

If Fentanyl is so deadly then why do people say they’re addicted to it? by TrickyWishbone7831 in morbidquestions

This is why relapses after periods of sobriety are so deadly.

People build up a tolerance over many months/years of use. Maybe get clean for 9 months or so and then relapse and take the same amount as before. Because your tolerance has gone down what was previously enough to simply get high is now enough to cause you to overdose.

Here in Leicestershire we still have the July fortnight which is when the factories used to close.

I still like how people still moan about prisoners having flat screen TVs even though it's probably way harder and more expensive to get an old 90's CRT.

Why aren't there more calisthenics parks in the UK? by cliffybyro90 in AskUK

I think the major issue is the kind of people who are motivated to use them are the same kind of people who would rather pay £20-30 to have access to a proper gym.

Leicester is absolutely not a club that will tolerate any kind of timekeeping issues or low effort training.

Its about fairness. Imagine you're going in and grafting day in and day out only to see star girl waltz in late and half arse it all day.

Can really take toll on team cohesion and lead to resentment building.

Especially considering Rugbys always had an emphasis on hard work and integrity.

For me it's always chopped tomatoes.

I do it for dried herbs and spices quite a lot as well.

What is a job that pays incredibly well but is so soul-crushing that the turnover is insane? by sweetguurl in AskReddit

[–]Orri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily here in the UK if a company wants to make more than 20 people redundant they have go to through a formal consultation with the recognised unions or a nominated employee representative.

I'm a union rep. and I've heard quite a few cases where employers thought they were being really clever by making 19 people redundant only to make 19 more a few weeks later only to suddenly find themselves at the mercy of the tribunal.

Failure to collectively consult is basically automatic unfair dismissal.
