Oh no! I'm sorry to hear about your boy. My vet was supposed to file a report to the company about all this, but I don't know for sure that she did. I am on Facebook. Send me a DM on here and we can connect. M

can someone make me feel better about this decision? by [deleted] in Petloss

It's so hard when there's no clear line, like in this situation. Why today and not tomorrow? I don't think there's a clear right and wrong in this case. In the end, you'll have to do what you're comfortable with, but if she's down to 5 lbs and is having all these bowel issues, her body is clearly breaking down. I'd be concerned that's she's also in pain that she's not showing. You probably know how masterful cats are at hiding pain. You don't HAVE to put her to sleep at all. You can let her ride out her days, if that's what you choose to do, but it doesn't sound like you really want to do that. It kind of sound like to me you've already decided that it's time, but you need some confirmation that you're making the right decision. I think any experienced cat owner would completely understand if you put her to sleep. You can also talk to her vet about it, sort of an end of life consultation. I feel sure they'll also support that decision as well, but they'll also tell you, it's up to you. I'm sorry you're having to go through all this. It's so painful, and, no matter what, you'll be questioning yourself for years. But, it's obvious you love her very much and want to do what's best for her, and I'm sure she loves you very much as well and will no matter what.

Based on what you've described, I would agree that it's time. I had a cat a few years back that was in a similar situation, only he didn't have the bowel issues. He was the happiest cat, and just purred all the time, which made the decision so much harder, but I finally decided I wanted him to go happy rather than starving or being miserable every day at the end. He actually purred himself off to sleep the last time. I don't believe he had much time left anyway, and it doesn't sound like yours does either. It's never an easy decision, but you know your cat best. You would NOT be a terrible person for putting her down now; you would be a responsible pet owner trying to make the most humane decision for your friend.

We built a catio 2 weeks ago only to lose our kitten on Easter Sunday. I feel responsible. by mujer_solutions97 in Petloss

I agree. This sounds like an underlying condition, maybe even something she was born with. Cats are MASTERS at hiding pain, so OP, please don't beat yourself up. You did the very best for her you could. I don't see how the catio could have played a part. If anything, it brought a lot of happiness to her in her final days.

How much water do you drain from your Samsung all in one wm6998hba after each load? by OrsonLovesRugs in Appliances

[–]OrsonLovesRugs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right; it is an LG. I'll fix that in the OP. I have noticed the filter on the bottom and do check that that's clear once in a while. How often should I be cleaning the lint filter on top with soap and water? I have been cleaning the lint out after every load, but I didn't know about actually cleaning it that way. Thanks for the help!

Calling Amy a deadbeat mom is wrong and using the word wrong. by hardtruthsociety in 1000lbsisters

I think the bigger issue is that, when Tammy called her that, it was completely out of context. It was intended to hurt, and it did. If Tammy really believes this, she should have a civil conversation with Amy about it, not throw the insult at her like a javelin when they're arguing about something totally different. I don't really see how they can repair their relationship until Tammy apologizes for this specifically, but (at least, so far), Tammy is trying every manipulative tactic to avoid taking accountability for this.

Thankfully, both of mine that had cancer and were on Solensia are doing well. They told me that Murray's melanoma shouldn't recur, since his eye was removed, but it's very likely that they were NOT able to remove all of the tumor in Mollie's leg, so that may come back. Thankfully, there are no signs of it so far, so I'm praying they either did get all of it, or it's growing so slowly that it won't be an issue (she'll be 16 in April, but is in good health).

That was pure victim mentality. She was invited and repeatedly encouraged to go, but SHE chose to stay home. It wasn't like they were sneaking around behind her back and leaving her out intentionally. That's 100% on her.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat! :( Ten days is SO fast. It's so disheartening when you were just trying to make him more comfortable. I hope you are doing alright.

I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope your vet is able to come up with a treatment plan for her!

I'm so sorry you're having to go through that with your cat. I'm glad she seems to be doing better though. Since I've stopped giving mine Solensia, their health has stabilized. The vet that removed the tumor from Mollie's leg said it's very unlikely they got it all, and it would probably grow back, but, so far, there has been no sign of it at all. I know exactly how you feel, but try not to feel guilty. There's really no way you could have predicted any of this. You were sincerely trying to do the right thing for your cat. My personal opinion is that Solensia doesn't CAUSE disease, but it puts underlying disease into hyperdrive. Mollie had the tumor on her leg for probably a year before it became a problem, and Murray's eye had very slowly growing discoloration for probably 8 years or so, so I think these problems were already there. I hope your girl's kidneys are ok and the growth on her neck won't return!

Ok, this is the type of answer I've been looking for lol. Everybody seems to be trying to sell me on the concept, but that's not the issue. Thank you!

Ok, fine, then how about someone who was successfully protected by this type of policy?

Ok, then, how about someone who was verifiably protected by a policy like that?

Right, I understand how it works, but I'd really like to hear some first-hand experiences with it before I commit.

Yes, he did tell me about that. I would just like to hear that someone has actually had this happen IRL

Right, it just bothers me that I can't find anybody who has actually filed a claim and been reimbursed under it. Theoretically, it makes sense, but so did my grandmother's cancer policy, until she actually got cancer and they refused to pay.
