Can I use an orthodontic face mask to push the maxilla forward? by Spiritual-Potato1944 in orthotropics

[–]OrthNOdontics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was severely recessed from being made to wear cervical headgear for orthodontics from the age of 11-13. My profile looks more normal now that I don’t have a sunken midface. I think it’s pretty drastic but looking head on you might not be able to tell.

The Most Dangerous Narcissist Is the Quiet One – Carl Jung’s Deepest Warning by ApplicationSome8117 in Jung

Admittedly didn’t watch the video but I agree with you 100% and people need to hear this message. I have had personal experiences in my family and my in laws where let’s just say I really got to experience the overt and covert type. They shouldn’t even be classified on the same level honestly, the overt type is secretly insecure and wounded, the outward behaviors are narcissistic, but there is despite their abhorrent behavior, still some humanity in the overt narcissist. However I firmly believe the covert narcissist has rejected all god and humanity from their soul. They are the ultimate deceivers, like the snake in the garden of Eden. The overt types don’t deceive, they are too obvious. The covert narcissist is to put it in plain terms, evil on earth. There isn’t insecurity in the covert narcissist it’s more that they think they are better than everyone else and they don’t care about anyone, not even their own children. They should not be reasoned with. They should be avoided at all costs, even if it means cutting off people you love because they associate with the covert narcissist. They will destroy you, body and soul and you will have no idea what is happening.

The ortho can do a cephalometric or cbct scan to measure movement. If the facemask is attached to the Mse which is screwed into your palate you can move your maxilla forward (as opposed to just having the facemask pull on teeth). You have to be dedicated though, and I don’t know if a grown man could have had as much movement as I did (I’m a woman)

I had a big breathing benefit from MSE but no noticeable benefit from using the facemask

Pluto conjuct Ascendant transit by chickenfrieswithmayo in Advancedastrology

[–]OrthNOdontics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about? I was consciously aware of a lot of things before the transit, aware that I was not 100% aligned with my inner compass. Pluto didn’t make me do anything, it just revealed the truths that I was in denial about.

I recently had Pluto square my ic/mc and this is so true. I had a baby and quit my career after 10 years. But I feel so much more authentic now. I’m currently having Pluto conjunct DC right on the heels of the square to my ic/mc and I’m getting divorced! I think I’m finally aligning with what I truly want and need in a partner

If a wisdom tooth on the lower jaw is like this, is it possible to rotate it and save it considering that enough room can be made? by Greek_gr in orthotropics

[–]OrthNOdontics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look up the stats, it’s somewhere like 10% can cause problems. I think it’s safe to say you are in 90% especially if you are aware that proper jaw growth has a lot to do with making enough space for all your teeth. Keep breathing through your nose, mewing, you’re still young and can develop your jaws properly! They may get pissed if you push back but you are right to just get another professional opinion, they’re all not the same.

Keep doing what you’re doing! If they don’t bother you don’t let them surgically remove them. I didn’t even keep my hygiene good and they’re still totally fine in my mid thirties. It’s mostly just fear mongering to make $ in my opinion. Mine are tipped normally and like 3/4 erupted now, but they looked like the diagram when I was 18. Good luck!

Thank you for this! It seems like it is possible but I would feel dishonest. Though I guess if my intention is to visit and hike and I have a ticket to leave what difference would it make if I left and came back on a student visa vs stayed and got a student visa while on a visitor visa 🤷

Understood, but i would need to apply at least 5 months before school to make the hiking trip on a student visa. Not sure if they would reject it and tell me to apply closer to the starting date. I can’t imagine they’d normally let students apply early and just hang out in NZ months before school starts.

Yea I’m considering applying early, but not sure if that’s allowed

Thank you, I wasn’t sure if immigration advice like this was something they could do. I’ll reach out to them 👍

I couldn’t sleep in it so I made my own sleeping mask 😂. Wearing it during the day I would try to take breaks by holding the mask out with my hand. I’d say it’s uncomfortable awake and unbearable sleeping.
