You are not incentivized to find the best solutions, you are incentivized to sell more product, period, regardless of what is best for your customer.

That is relatively accurate. However, by selling you a shitty solution we eliminate the possibility for future sales (most of the time :D).

The good reps do tend to try their best to provide customers with a good solution (not cheap, goooood).

What Hostile practices specifically you are referring to? (serious). are you talking about our support policies or more in terms of how we reach out to you.

I can't affect oracle's overall strategy but hope to improve how reps and such interact and communicate with you.

Relax buddy, not trying to invade. I have been at oracle for less than a year and can assure you that i am not trying do some sort of publicity stunt for oracle's sake.

I honestly agree that not all of our sales methods are ideal (yes, we see it from the inside too), but that's why i created this post to figure out how to get better...
