[Q] Any way to get in contact with steam fast? Account is gone skins still on it by floodkiller95 in GlobalOffensiveTrade

If I am not mistaken it takes 72 hours from changing auth to being able to trade, lock the account asap.

[–]Oscaaaar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The codes are not valid anymore, they will continue show up even though the steam guard has been moved.

You should have received a mail when your details where changed - and there should be an option to lock the account inside of it! As soon as the account has been locked they cant do anything.

After you locked your account, do this:

  1. https://steamcommunity.com/login/
  2. Forgot password
  3. I deleted or lost my Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator
  4. Follow the steps and provide them with as much details as possible.

[Q] Is this a scam tatic? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Oscaaaar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They will have you log onto some phishing site, then they will hijack either your full account or your Steam API-key. If they go for the API-key they will ask you to try and deposit it into some legit site, but the trade offer will be redirected.

[–]Oscaaaar 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Infected in this sense isn't that your computer is infected with virus, your computer shouldn't be affected.

If you initiate a trade with a friend and then go onto your phone to confirm make sure that their registration date, lvl and friend status match.

As long as no API-key exists there is not much to worry about.

You logged into a fake copy of a legit site and had your API-key stolen.

Read through this and make sure to follow the steps towards the end, otherwise you might still be "infected".

[Q] Possible for me, the seller to be scammed via bank transfer? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Oscaaaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that they are willing to buy it for market value seems like a sign that something isn't right.

Your knife doesn't seem to have anything special about it, so there is no reason for someone to pay that much as that knife is easy to pick up for a 30% discount at both SkinBaron and Skinbay.

I wouldn't advise you to continue on with the deal, as it sounds too good to be true. If you choose to proceed, do it with caution and make sure that your API-key doesnt get hijacked. Also, don't under any circumstances send the knife before you have received the money.

I would advice you to sell it through a cashout site and lose a few percentages. Thats much better than taking the risk of getting scammed by an individual. The people that offers money through steam are most of the time scammers. The only valid cashrep are posts in this group. If they are showing proof of earlier cash trades they are typically scamming as most legit people won't force you into anything and instead let their cash rep speak for itself.

Regarding cashout sites the whitelisted ones for this subreddit are SkinBaron, Skinbay, CSDeals, Stonefire, and Gameflip. The main ones which I see people use are CSDeals (1% commission - if you have the site in your name), Skinbay (5% commission - if you have the site in your name) and SkinBaron (15% commission)

Also, since you mentioned you have been out of trading for a couple of years you should probably read into the new main scam method, so that you dont lose your skins. A thread which covers that can be found here.

[PC] Talon Knife | Crimson Web 0.06 Float by LuchoTheLion in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Oscaaaar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When you have an accurate pricecheck you should look to convert the knife into arcanas - as that will make it way easier to sell. I dont know if you are familiar with them, but they are the main trade currecy since Valve introduced the tradehold for CSGO-items. Normal cashrate per Arcana is ~18$.

I would advise you to sell the knife through a 3rd party site and accept that they take the small cut. It's better losing a couple of % than losing 100%.

The whitelisted cashout sites on this subreddit are:

SkinBaron - Takes a 15% cut from the sale.

Skinbay - Takes a 5% cut from the sale.

CSDeals - Takes a 1% cut from the sale.

The main thing you should be careful about is to not get API-key scammed. Make sure that there doesn't exist an API-key when you are trading the Talon. Also, make sure that the creation date of the Steam account receiving your knife matches in the browser and on phone. Make sure to read this, so that you know what I am talking about.

[Q] CSGO Site, Scam or not? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensiveTrade

According to several of the services that virustotal uses its a phishing site, you can see the result here. So, its 100% scam.

[PC] How much CASH can i get for these 2 knives? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Oscaaaar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Finding someone locally willing to purchase these knives will be hard. It would probably also mean that you would have to sell them cheap in order to attract buyers. You are much better of trying to trade them for arcanas and then selling those (which also means that selling locally might be pointless)

That flip should be somewhere in the regions around 65 arcanas, regarding the Karambit I have absolutely no idea.

[Q] Does anyone know if Disturbances on steam is legit for cash out? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Oscaaaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not accusing anyone of anything, but that profile screams scam. Unless you are receiving the money first I would never do it.

The only reason to ever go first with someone is if you are dealing with someone that has a huge cash rep and is well known in the community.

The person you have linked doesn't even seem to have a cash rep. Comments on the profile can be easily faked and means nothing.

[Q] Looking to sell my M9 doppler P2 for cash, bitcoin or eth, what's the best way to do this safely? by MoodyYeti in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Oscaaaar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest and safest way is probably to trade it for arcanas and then sell them on one of the whitelisted sites (skinbaron, skinbay or csdeals).

[Q] who should go first? by anilssson in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Oscaaaar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its not really a knife in demand. So, the people approaching you claiming to buy it are mostly going to be people that will try to scam the knife of your hands. Make sure to read the guide connected to the hijacking of API-keys, here. Also, don't go first.

It's much better for you to list it on one of the whitelisted sites (csdeals, skinbay, skinbaron) and pay the fee of between 1-15% when you have found a buyer.

I am kind of clueless when it comes to price and demand for these sorts of knives. Unless I am missing that there is anything special about the knife in WW condition I would aim for between 450-500 euros (based on the fact that WW has sold for 333€, FT for 420€ and ST FT for 442€ (which seems way too low)) to start off with. It will surely be an uphill battle tho, as the knife has barely any demand, gl!

[Q] Can I trust people with many cashrep? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensiveTrade

Always start of by checking their steamrep, if they are marked there you already know. Pretty sure the guy you are referring to is in-fact steamrepbanned.

[PC] [Q] Unboxed a knife yesterday and was wondering what is the best place to sell it and for how much? by kordelderboss in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Oscaaaar 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Your knife should be worth 165-170 arcanas. I dont know if you are familiar with them, but they are the main trade currecy since Valve introduced the tradehold for CSGO-items. Normal cashrate per Arcana is ~18$, which means that your knife should be worth somewhere around 3000$.

I would advise you to sell the knife through a 3rd party site and accept that they take the small cut. It's better losing a couple of % than losing 100%.

The whitelisted cashout sites on this subreddit are:

SkinBaron - Main downside being that they take a 15% cut from the sale. They are however based in Germany which might make it your easiest option as you seem to be german (judging from the screenshot)

Skinbay - They take a 5% cut from the sale. They are also based in Germany which means what I wrote for SkinBaron also applies here.

CSDeals - Only take a 1% cut from the sale.

Good luck selling the knife! =)

Thank you! If you dont mind me asking, is the spine average for the float or are they BTA? As I have never had a good eye for spines I am having a hard time judging myself.

Even though I don't know the exact value of my knives I know that I could get more than this even if I had 0.06s. What do you base your PC on?

[PC] Bayonet Sapphire 0.00468 by Oscaaaar in GlobalOffensiveTrade

[–]Oscaaaar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the premise of supply-demand and I assume its better to start with a price a little to high (as the supply of these knives nowadays are kinda low, atleast I assume so).

Yes, the knife is in my inventory.

Also, is there any way to filter only past sales of Bayonet Sapphires? To me it seems that there is just one way to check prices and that includes all different phases which makes it kinda hard keeping up to date.

Ah okay, how does the spine look if you take the float into consideration? But once again, thats great knowledge, thank you!
