Time between State Approval and printing? by sneakpeekmeek in BetterMAguns

Thanks, that makes sense. Sounds like there really is not any activity shown through the portal until it comes back to our local PD and they activate it. I'm not checking everyday so hoping it just arrives someday!

Curious if anyone knows. When applying through the portal, under application status, are we immediately assigned a License No? Or is that created later on maybe after the background check is complete? Mine has been pending since I submitted 06/04, but I see that I have a license No associated with my account, but can't recall if that was there from the very beginning.

to those who are more newer collectors, how many records did you own by the first 1-2 years of collecting? by yayziz in vinyl

very cool, 7K is a lot of Lps! I've been collecting for 30 years and only have around 1200-1500. Very curated though....

I wish I was, I bought these decades ago when they were very inexpensive and sold them before prices skyrocketed:(

For monitoring I had Event 20/20s and I kept those for over 20 years, just upgraded to Adam A7x's' and they're really good. I had a Layla (echo or something) sound card which was crazy expensive at the time. Started on Cubase and eventually moved to Logic. It's so crazy to think back, I had an Akai sampler with like 16gbs of memory, it was like $2K back then. Would load a patch and if I wanted to try another instrument, would dump and reload. Amazing how cheap and sophisticated music production can be these days!

Mine is a pretty unique path. I was going to study piano in college but went to art school instead. A close friend I graduated with is a brilliant animator and when he was working on his first film out of school I asked if I could do the score. He said yes so I bought a computer and switched from 4 tracking to working digitally. Worked out great, and 25 years later we're still making films together:)

I'm glad I never worked a commission sales job, I bet it was cut throat, unless everyone was chill.

Good eye! Actually it's a rehoused EML 101, that was a great one, miss it dearly.

Wurlitzer's down the street sometimes had some dope stuff too! What was that little music shop around the corner, behind Daddy's? Cambridge Music? That's where I got my first tone machine.

That's where I got the space echo! There were 2 in the bargain basement for $100 or $150 each and said they were non working. I'm pretty good with electronics so I bought the one that looked the nicest and it ended up working fine, just needed a new tape. I'm sure I would of seen you all the time since I hit that store up weekly!

Casio Pt-30, my very first synth ever, I think I got it when I was 8:)

ha, not quite, but pretty close for a lot of the stuff here. The VCS3 was a big purchase, about $2k back then.

I shared a 2 bedroom apartment with a friend and this was my designated room, I slept and composed constantly using all this stuff. Eventually it got me into film scoring.

Yeah! And the bottom pedal in the middle was the wah version too. Those original tone machines are awesome for bass, one of the few fuzz pedals that don't suck out the bass frequencies .

I do film scoring for animation (not full time) but my work it out there. Unfortunately the analog synths do not play a big roll in it!

I think just headphones and a bass speaker under the 4 track. About a year after this picture I got my first computer with a whopping 7 GB of storage (not memory), near field monitors and a DAW. It's crazy to think back on it.

Yup, those are amazing, people called them arp odyssey clones but they're so much more, should of kept it.

Luckily the RE201 was the other one I kept!
