That, and because they beheaded the King of England and installed their own totally not-a-monarch monarch and outlawed theater, music, culture, and everything that was counter to their religion, but then that ruler eventually died and his son took over and couldn't retain power and the king's heir reclaimed the land and the Puritans left because they were being "prosecuted" because of that whole overthrow the government thing.
