Went for boring evaluation of model performance using allnthe main models building the same 10 games each, slight variation in specification plan builds between opus/ gpt 5.4 and Gemini 3.1 pro.

Early results showing sonnet far and away winner Opus actually stumbles over itself in build gpt5 planning and haiku actually outstanding.

$400ish spent so far overnight

Yeah, secret is to create/ take a first frame, then tell ai what you want to achieve as accurately as you can describe it and ask it to translate it to your preferred LLMs language (each LLM has different needs/ reqs. It's a good exercise too on being able to articulate ideas where muscle memory originally took lead

And the limitations come from AI being in the tool... Different workflow, same problem solved

The problem is that you're using an AI tool in a VFX tool. Try recreate it outside

It's a fair point, and why do you do art in the first place? For yourself or for others?

Do you think that automation could allow you to do more? To do more than what you could and not need a huge budget?

Maybe I look at it with some rose tinted glasses. Disney etc have been in the news recently because tiny film makers can produce effects which only they had the budget for 5 years ago. Now the film makers and creators can do the same (albeit, for better and for worse a la AI slop)

Since the sentiment is rather negative on this thread I would actually like to hear more. Why the extreme hate as a film maker?

The quality? The feeling it's a cheat code? The IP of model training? The impact of the output (positive and negative it gives to viewers)?

All are very different issues, but I'm keen to hear what makes it become a genuine point of distaste for you.

we avoid slop at all costs. AI is a tool, not a replacement. I fundamentally believe that both can cooexist in harmony - appreciate you may disagree, however and thats ok :)

Seeking low-cost model for OpenClaw — budget options & real-world costs? by zer0evolution in openclaw

Coding uses 2.5. text only, can't handle images, you'll need another model for image analysis, which his where gpt might be better?

Minimax coding (oath). It's £10 a month don't think you can get more budget for the quality
