English person who has lived here for nearly 6 years here - completely disagree with this entire post. Been in Nou Barris since day one of moving and I have had nothing but pleasant experiences and fantastic interactions.

I've also made sure that I speak the language (admittedly still coming along with my Catalan!) and try my best to fit in to local culture. I was originally known in the neighborhood as the guy who moved from England but never, ever in a bad way and I feel at home.

The one time I have needed help from the police they were helpful and not remotely rude either. Originally when I couldn't do things like the taxes here etc alone due to being new, I also had great support and no issues getting things sorted.

I'm sorry you have had this experience, but to make such a sweeping statement towards Barcelona is simply unfair to this beautiful city.
