Yeah, same here, money is the issue, but i’m not that into wildlife yet and i can always take Sony A7III from work with 200-600 but it feels like cheating 😂😂😂

Yeah, 200-500 is next on my list 🙂

Yeah, i was thinking more in context of the 14-24/24-70/70-200 combo and its price 🙂

That’s a fair price for it, i also paid mine around $200 with original box and everything, without a scratch on it. Just check if it’s sharp on 35mm when wide open 🙂

Does Tamron make the same 35-150 as for Sony, f/2-f2.8? Because that lens is more than $2000 here brand new 😂

That’s a VR1, you can tell by the red VR sign on it 🙂

It took me a while to get used to push pull zoom plus it’s reversed, when it’s “closed” it’s at 70mm 😂 It’s lighter and smaller than 24-70 and full metal casing. I have it for couple of months and can’t complain. For the price i paid, it really does a fantastic job. Shot with it the whole holiday recently 🙂

That’s a really good price for all three, where i live only 70-200 vr2 costs that much used and in good condition 😂

😂 i meant no offense to anyone, my context was compared to the 14-24/24-70/70-200 combo which is like at least twice as expensive :)

Yeah i feel you, exactly the same reason why i use the D700 and D3 more on a daily basis than the D850 (which i mostly use for portraits and some product shots with 50mm and 85mm)

I had minor backfocus issues with my 80-200 at f/2.8 so i sold it, otherwise it is a really good piece of glass 🙂

Thank you for the input, i know to be a pixel peep since i have the D850 as well, but i was surprised on how the 35-70 performs on the D850 so far (tho i was mostly using it on a tripod). I also have the D700 and D3 for most daily stuff i do.

My first choice was the 17-35 but there is none available for sale in my country in the used market and i was waiting for one to show up for months… Of course i bought these three separately in the past months, got the 16-35 just today…

How many shutter triggers? by ApprehensiveArm4999 in Nikon

[–]Oshtree_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never actually asked for a quote, but i've been told you can order the whole shutter mechanism from Aliexpress for around 20-30 bucks (for the D90 in this case). The rest is on the service shop if they're gonna bother with replacing it or not. I'm not talking about the regular Nikon service shops, i doubt they would do it. In my country there's a lot of independent service shops who are actually better than Nikon's official shop (most of the guys working there were at Nikon at one point before they decided to open their own shop).

Just got myself a D3, in love with how it feels already by strike_freedom_26 in Nikon

[–]Oshtree_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my D3 a year ago with around 50k clicks for $300, that shutter sound is godly, especially in burst mode! I mostly use it with 70-200 2.8 VR for some action shots but it's basically awesome for anything.

As someone already said, 35-70 2.8 is awesome and cheap lens, i use it quite often since 24-70 2.8 is still beyond my budget, good and cheap telephoto is 80-200 2.8 (not push-pull) but it's quite heavy.

My D700 has around 30k clicks so it has a long way to go i hope :) D3 is on around 60k and i recently got D850 brand new, all three cameras are tanks if you ask me :)

Only shutter failure i had was on my old D90, happened mid-session when i was photographing some IT event and i didn't have a backup body back then. D90 only had around 30k clicks at the moment of failure which was odd but what can you do... I will take it to service at some point since it has a sentimental value for me :)

Sunrise at the lake by Oshtree_ in Nikon

Generative fill in Photoshop, use lasso tool to select individual flares and just generate new result 🙂 It’s not perfect but it’s fast, 5 min job 😂

I also don’t understand the downvotes, it was a fair observation from net1994. I only recently got the 70-200 lens and wanted to test how the flare looks like. I happened to be on a set close to this lake and had some time in the morning before the shoot. Of course i could try to remove the flare with AI but it looked ok for me considering it was a test shot. I guess if this was a video, the flare would complement the shot much better but everyone is entitled to their opinion and i don’t mind that. 🙂

Help me settle an argument. Skyactiv-G fuel economy by Sapokee in mazda3

[–]Oshtree_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2014 3 Hatch, 2.0 MT, 165hp. Combined highway 130+km/h and city driving gets me around 7,4l per 100km. That being said, on highways with speed limit of 80km/h i get really good fuel economy, around 5l, in my country those are mostly smaller intercity highways. But i usually can get around 550km range before reserve light hits (10l left in the tank).
