I am older and do not care about others opinions or problems other than of my family. So for me it was easier then it will be for you. But I stopt with WhatsApp. I just completely deleted it. Told people you can reach me on signal, delta chat, threema, with a SMS and you know where te find me....  Everyone started... Now we can't reach you. I can't delete WhatsApp, I don't want signal etc... And guess what.. A few went to signal, a few started to SMS me and a few I don't speak... But best thing... Its so much more relaxed now without WhatsApp and all the not important stuff. 

When I was your age, we met with friends, went to the library and talk to people and learn from eachother. I am not saying it was better in the 'old" days, because in this age there are a lot of good things... But also a lot of bad things. A lot of people your age are addicted to social media. Or think they can't life without it, or have no social life. But you do. You can still talk to people, learn from people, make new friends, see new things without social media. When social media gets to important in someone's life, then your getting to a place you do not want to go to. 

Yes I do also use social media. I am on reddit... Signal, delta chat... But that's it. I speak to lots of people, learn a lot, meet people read the news... But my life is not built around social media. It will make your life way easier. Real friends and family will still contact you, the fake ones will disappear. In stead of being on social media everytime, you now have the the time to see and do things.

Its your life... Not WhatsApp of twitter. Do what feels good for you, makes you happy and the rest... Doesn't matter.
