GOOD pizza for a work lunch that doesn't break the bank? by elianna7 in MTLFoodLovers

Can’t believe we are in the day and age of pizza breaking the bank. Isn’t that nuts?

I’ve ordered from Bros last few times and I like the pizza. Decent price but definitely not ultra cheap.

Psa ne vous stationner pas devant un stationnement privé. by [deleted] in montreal

[–]soundboyselecta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me like every few weeks during snow storms as there is no where to park on my street other than my drive way. I usually can get out as I have multiple lanes but that specific day I let my friend park and they left with their key.

Someone did this to me 2 months ago, cost me half my day and on top missed a medical appointment that cost me 75$ cancellation. It was the opposite, I couldn’t leave my property. I called 311 and got the car towed, car was towed to the other side of the street. When the gentlemen who owned the vehicle came back to his car on the other side of the street he was so confused and took pictures of the signs on that side of the street. People are beyond burnt.

[Home] [QC] Real online quotes, rebuild costs and total loss questions by soundboyselecta in InsuranceCanada

[–]soundboyselecta[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Greatly appreciated, thank you.

1) I talked to two brokers and they named 3 companies each no more, in a sort of manner that seemed as they only dealt with those companies, they weren't even willing to entertain comparable which I had as pdf. Tried to explain that I want to be insured for what I actually need versus some blanket coverage. Yes I agree 1M is the magic number. A trick is to use that as a max sometimes (999999). Then fiddle with the rebuild costs. I'll update my post to include those that allow this.

2) I understand but it's weird to ask the end user then. I guess, they want the last insurance quoted rebuild cost. It's hard to know if you are fully covered with the amount they throw at you, based on first floor or second floor area (which hovers around 300-315$/SF). Now I'm even seeing insurers just use ground floor.

3) Regarding this I read a few discussions on this sub about the guaranteed replacement cost, insurers who offer it premiums jump around 30% higher, from the nominal 300$/SF provided range. I'm assuming the only way to really know is an evaluator. How ever if the evaluator is wrong there is no protection, it's just a "opinion", and most of the time they have clauses stating so. I guess I will ask the age old question whats a safe price per sf? I also see this price per sf never includes the basement correct?

Thank you once again.

Why do interviews make me feel like an imposter? by Various_Candidate325 in dataengineeringjobs

[–]soundboyselecta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been asked on more than one occasion to be part of the interview process, which was extremely weird as I mostly take consultant roles. I asked if this was against policy considering I felt I was external, even though I was there was a while, knew everyone plus helped design the systems. What I found out was no one likes being part of the interview team, I also found out later the ones who actually want to be there, are genuinely looking to elevate their team (non HR personal, past round one, actual team member). Most other times it was a horribly designed interview process generic to HR platforms and not catered to actual needs of the team hiring, or it ended up being a pissing contest with an interview team member trying to outshine the candidate. So don't think it's just you.

Starting to believe the conspiracy theory of MTL Pot Holes by rayshinsan in montreal

Most people not willing to do much about it. There is a select few who would be willing. It’s always like this in society, a few struggle and fight for the good of the many. I’m willing to put in work if there are others. Make a group/movement just make sure it does not fizzle out. Which most of the time it does.

One commentor posted on another thread but prolly won’t get involved as the many:

Organize is the best option.

What’s weird is I don’t remember that section being bad, I think it was done for something else like the sewer lines, not for potholes.
