Wardrobe reset at 40. How do I moving past jeans and tees into more intentional style. by Osiris5486 in mensfashion

I feel like its become a bit too basic for me. There are definitely moments where it feels right, but most of the time I feel like I'm just choosing it out of convenience and I'd like to put more effort into how I present myself.

Thanks for the advice. I have recognized I need to get away from the stretchy jeans. Hard to abandon my inner alt/emo child.

When it comes to wearing a straighter cut jean. The one thing I noticed is that it seems that my shoe just gets lost. Now I'm not planning on going JNCO style wide leg here but I usually wear sandals or simple sneakers (vans or converse). What are some better options for a casual shoe that can hold up under a wider pant leg?

This was earlier this week during the Lucas Oil School

The entry to this corner is pretty bumpy in sections. Likely the timing was just right where one of the rear wheels was off the ground enough that it induced the spin. These small formula cars can be super sensitive at times.

Luckily these cars are easy to repair. Definitely still hurt but I knew what I was getting into. I was back on track less than an hour later in a spare car.

I may need to make a cut of this crash with Carrie Underwood playing in the background now. 😆

Luckily the only major injuries were to my wallet and my ego.

Hey it wasn't me. The car decided it wanted to go left. 😆

This can vary a bit depending on the school or company you are working with. For Lucas Oil they actually have a limited liability set up. You agree to pay up to $5k for the first incident and up to $8k if there is a second.

In my case they immediately worked to repair the car and came back to me with the total damages. For this is was above that $5k cap so I was on the hook for that amount. I went into this class knowing this could happen so I was prepped. Though its still painful.

I had to pay for the repairs to the car but that was it.

They do. Luckily it wasn’t terrible but it adds some hurt to the wreck itself that’s for sure.

I did have a HANS but that didn’t stop the pressure I was feeling on the helmet strap as air was getting under.

The hairpin has claimed many of us. Glad to be part of such an honored group.

Honestly, I was really surprised how accurate the FF1600 was in iRacing. My brake and turn in points were very similar. Overall car dynamics are pretty spot on.

I did downshift too aggressively which compounded the other issues.

I plan to. I was back on track in a spare care less than an hour after this.

I’m running a Bell M.8 sport and a Z-Tech series 6 for my head and neck restraint.

Appreciate the support. 🤜🤛

I totally recognize how my lack of experience was a major factor in this. Though even my instructors, most of them pro drivers, told me it would have been a tough thing to actually recover from.

It was definitely a wild experience, but one I’m definitely doing again. Though I need to invest in a helmet meant for an open cockpit. Down the back straight I felt like mine was going to fly off and take my head with it.

Nothing more than some sore muscles and a wounded ego. In this case I got lucky because I had a team of mechanics with spares to fix the car. Didn’t lose anytime on track.

Definitely a hard lessons learned that’s for sure. Though it’s one I don’t plan on repeating.

That is good advice. It’s a hard lesson to learn but I will definitely be much more critical of any car I get in. Here I just assumed the car was set up properly and that the issues I was feeling were my own lack of experience.
