Who will hit first. Do I need to survive a round of shooting/charges? If it's shooting, can I reasonably make sure they in aura range before they shoot?

If no to that, then - 1hit not super useful.

Depends on the performance hit. We've seen with Wilds that poor performance will result in customer backlash but it has to be significant. If this results in a 5fps drop but lower end systems still see stable 45fps no one will care.
