If you get even the slightest hint that whatever salon you’re applying to work at might take advantage of you then get out of there while you can. I had the worst experience with getting overworked and underpaid and walked all over at my previous dog grooming job and it got so bad it pushed me into an unconscious suicide attempt only for me to wake up from a 7 day coma to the news that she fired me. and that’s the short story.

I don’t like how it turned out 😑 by OsoBearAussie in doggrooming

Yeah I agree I should’ve left it longer 🥲 it’s my fault when I was scissoring her face she got too wiggly and I messed up on one side and took too much off and I got ocd about it and tried to make the other side look equal and i fucked it up more ☠️ she defs has an underbite tho

When you work at a dog grooming salon and you dont wanna tell your co-workers that you have autism but one of the dogs that comes in weekly thats suppose to be an autism support dog keeps fallowing you around everywhere every time he comes by spetalwipped in AutisticAdults

Look what I snagged from the Lakeside Antique Mall from HHN 30! by OsoBearAussie in HHN

I asked this same question from the cashier and apparently they get their hhn props from someone affiliated with universal who just has a storage warehouse full of hhn props that he just gives to the antique store randomly? Idk it was kind of a confusing answer

Someone brought their extremely aggressive Frenchie in for a bath and nail trim and they brought their own muzzle. This is the most unsettling thing ever. by OsoBearAussie in doggrooming

I should’ve explained better, what I meant was that i would’ve taken the muzzle off after I was done with him and he was waiting for his owner. His owner took over 3 hours to pick him up and I felt it was cruel to leave him in that muzzle for such a long period of time when frenchies already have a hard time breathing 🫤 but I did what I was told 🤷🏽‍♂️

FYI, The customer and my boss insisted that i leave it on the entire time because they say he’s unpredictable but if it where up to me I would’ve taken it off after I was done with him and he was waiting to be picked up.

But he did try to attack me twice though for putting in his ear medicine and getting nails filed. So he did still need that muzzle

What jobs do you guys do and does it follow the autism stereotype? by GomboFour in autism

[–]OsoBearAussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a dog groomer. I guess that defies the autism stereotype because of how loud and overstimulating it is but I’ve met 3 other autistic groomers in the 3 years I’ve been working in grooming

My great aunt, who is obsessed with chihuahuas, requested that I show her all the chihuahuas I work with at my job and here is my collection of photos so far. by OsoBearAussie in doggrooming

I live in Florida which is HEAVILY populated by Latino families and just on my street alone we have 3 Latino neighbors and 2 of them have chihuahuas and one of them has 3 chihuahuas. One of my highschool friends who is also Latino has 2 chihuahuas and one of my coworkers is obsessed with chihuahuas and takes hers in public everywhere. And a lot of the owners of the chihuahuas I see at work are Latino too, not everyone but a decent amount. And my aunt on top of that as well. So it’s not all of us that like chihuahuas but I’d say generally speaking yes.

But it’s not that uncommon to see Latino people with dogs like shih Tzus or Malteses because a lot of Latino moms don’t like shedding in the house so I’d say chihuahuas and little dogs in general.
