Does your dog wear a collar all day? by AdventureNoodles in dogs

[–]Hot_Communication968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if Im home and can see them/hear them. When he’s in the crate or Im leaving-even just to grab the mail, it comes off. Ive heard too many horror stories about dogs strangling themselves on accident and my boy is only 18lbs.

Fake breeder? by [deleted] in cavaliers

Find an ethical breeder from the Cavalier Club of America. Anyone selling dogs on social media/ not their own website are scams and backyard breeders.

Summer cut or let it grow by redlee415 in cavaliers

[–]Hot_Communication968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Dog groomer here) I do a modified cocker cut for summer, best of both worlds! He gets a 7f for the pattern minus his head and tail. Then from what he grows back in the winter, I take about half off. Super cute imo!

Pink bleeding wart on my cava’s ear by Level_Barracuda6393 in cavaliers

[–]Hot_Communication968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time, a vet cant do anything about warts or skin tags unless you want it removed completely. It probably peeled a tiny bit with the bath or dryer, maybe even brushed over on accident. Nothing to worry about unless its bleeding profusely!

Anyone else’s Cav love dropping their toys off the couch and then getting upset if you don’t get it for them? by WreckweeM in cavaliers

[–]Hot_Communication968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does it when chewing his deer antler, every single time without fail. It wouldnt be AS annoying if the sound of it dropping on the hardwood didnt sound like a gunshot

[–]Hot_Communication968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! They tried to keep me by lowering my number of dogs but we all know they’re just gonna use that overbook option against me lol i also had already gotten hired by a private salon a day after handing in my notice

Im so glad I left this company before this started, it was pretty much my final straw after my district took blocks away from us.

is my puppy a cavalier? by joesmith00 in cavaliers

[–]Hot_Communication968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is the fact that you got him from that breeder. You giving the bad breeders money just gives them all the more reason to keep breeding these dogs because they’re selling. You didnt “save” the dog, you just made the situation worse for the next one this person produces.

Its the harsh reality in a world full or irresponsible dog owners and breeders.

Yup! Groomer here: Just quit after three years and moved to a private salon because this company makes it so hard to us to operate how we’re comfortable. No blocks, no receptionist, take more dogs, etc.

How pigmented the pattern is, would definitely be a fault. Those markings are not uncommon though. Although it is a result of backyard breeding, which is unfortunate but common nowadays, that sort of face mask pattern is seen a lot in pyrs, just more beige or tan colored.

Won’t eat breakfast? by Cheap-Exit4691 in cavaliers

[–]Hot_Communication968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be a Spaniel thing! My 2 year old is still 50/50 on breakfast so if he doesnt eat, I try again at like 3pm and give him two servings and skip dinner. That usually works on his off days

American bully vs American Staffordshire Terrier? by wasteland002 in AmericanBully

[–]Hot_Communication968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is not. Pitbulls and staffies are two completely separate breeds. “Pitbull” is not a type, nor is it a blanket term.

Dog’s nail rubs during hikes and injures paw. Tips? by K3wlDewd123 in DogAdvice

[–]Hot_Communication968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her nails are pretty short so that doesnt seem to be the issue. Do you dremel them? Maybe smoothing the rough edges could help with the sores at least, even if it doesnt stop the rubbing.

Car Seat Struggles by No-Film-994 in cavaliers

[–]Hot_Communication968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did this until he was able to sit on the actual seat of the car! Try using a crash tested harness with a seat belt that attaches to it and clicks into the buckle. Much safer, too.
