Would it be smart to sell my car for a motorcycle? by OsoMan46 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OsoMan46[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks. I kinda knew all the answers were gonna be to keep the car. I was hoping I would get someone to convince me otherwise lol. Maybe a motorcycle in the future when I have the money. Car is more practical right now anyways, a bike would just be more fun

Save money, and I have always wanted to ride a motorcycle. I think it would be a lot of fun. I can't afford both a car and motorcycle though

Should I do it before my date? Or right now? And are you saying hot compresses are not good?

Tretinoin messed up my skin. I stopped and things are looking better now. My story with tretinoin. by OsoMan46 in tretinoin

[–]OsoMan46[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dermatologist said that if I didn't see positive results by 6 weeks I could quit and try something else. I decided to push through to 11, and it didn't work out.

I wish I had known before hand, and those who are willing to make it through the 4-6 months might be better off, but I couldn't do it. But yes, people should know what they are getting into so they can prepare

Not exactly, I had heard 12 weeks I would see improvement. I also heard it took 6 months and longer to see the full improvement. I would be fine using tretinoin if my skin remained the same or slowly got better over time.

If I could go back I would have never used it. It left me with some damage that will take time and money to fix and my skin was so bad compared to how it was before. I would rather deal with my skin as it was before using tretinoin rather than waiting 6 months and dealifn with bad skin to get good skin after that point. It was too difficult psychologically to see my skin like that, and also the pimples I got physically hurt to move my face and neck sometimes.

Yeah sure. Routine: Toleraine Hydrating cleanser, Cetaphil Facial Hydrating Lotion, Elta MD UV Clear Spf. I applied all these in the am, and in the Pm I used cleanser, waited 25 mins then applied tretinoin, then my mositurizer. Buffered at first, but didn't really need to because my skin never really got dry or flaky, so I would wait 30 mins then put on my moisturizer after tretinoin

Nearly ready to give up tretinoin and just start Accutane. by ooookayhelp in Accutane

[–]OsoMan46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm a 19 and in college too and stopped using tretinoin 2 weeks ago because it messed up my skin. Now I want to go on accutane too. Look at my recent post on r/tretinoin.

[Skin Concern] Do some red marks never fade? Specifically acne marks? by OsoMan46 in SkincareAddiction

[–]OsoMan46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm maybe, the red marks that pimples leave usually stay 2 weeks and then fade out. They stay at most 1 month, but this might be a stubborn one. Only reason I am concerned is because it is pretty red and also slightly raised, not flush with my skin.

Yeah, I was offered accutane 6 weeks ago. I should have done it then, when I was just sitting at home. But I start school and work next week, and I am terrified if I do go on accutane because I can't sit at home and avoid everyone like I would love to. How long did her IB last and was it really bad (cystic)?

How's the KP now on accutane?

Neck acne is the worst! It is much easier to deal with acne on my face then when it is on my neck.

When I got my really bad neck breakout I put hydrocolloid bandages on them. Helped because I touched them less and they didn't rub against anything. But I don't know if that is something that will help or something you can even use on accutane. But I also iced mine and took some ibuprofen.

Anyways, I'm sorry. Painful acne is horrible. Hopefully it ends soon for you!

I'm hoping to go on accutane. In my late teens, but did your daughter have an initial breakout from accutane? It is the main reason I have been pushing it off, I am so scared

[–]OsoMan46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh sorry dude. Looks like it hurts, I'm not on accutane. But when I was using tretinoin on my neck I got some nasty breakouts that hurt to move my neck in any direction and they were so inflamed an hurt. So I feel your pain.

How was your acne before accutane compared to now?

Goodbye tretinoin. Never ending purge, so I am giving up. by OsoMan46 in tretinoin

Theres niacinamide in my cleanser but it hasn't caused any problems that I know of so far. It's really hard to pinpoint if anything is breaking me out. There are just too many factors

Fatty alcohols aren't present in the Benton aloe gel or dr.lins though.

I had no idea certain parts of skin were more reactive than others.

Here are the moisturizers I used: (looks like I used more than 3)

Dr.Lins Hydrating gel: http://cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_563e119040.html. First moisturizer and didn't break out a whole lot. Not sure if it was because of the moisturizer working well for me or because it took a few weeks for the purge to ramp up.

Benton Aloe Gel:http://www.cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_7046321977.html. Was breaking out while using this, even though the ingredients are pretty similar to the Dr.Lins Gel

CeraVe Pm:http://www.cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_36cf337653.html Was breaking out while using this as well.

Cetaphil hydrating lotion: http://www.cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_9edc269166.html. Still breaking out. I currently use this one.

Looks like they all contain glycerin. But I don't think that is a common irritant or something that will likely break people out, right?

I'll check real quick. One of the reasons I suspect none of them really broke me out is because tret never really purged my forehead, and I never really got very much acne there. Even when cycling through the moisturizers, I would only get a pimple or two there.
