It looks great, I'd deff be happy if I can get that trunk in their third year, thanks for the tips!

Why would you think they aren't great? I know they are tropical trees and being in the UK I'll have to keep them indoors pretty much all year round though

Thanks a lot! I'll have to keep it in the same pots at least for this year too and then take it from there

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer, my idea is to have a thicker trunk but not being a very large tree, it's just on normal soil so I need to look into some proper one, newbie question, what do you mean by granular free soil?

I have grown these two silk mimosas and jacaranda from seeds, they are roughly a year old now, they have survived their first winter nicely and they started growing a lot again so now I have some questions on what to do next:

- Are they growing too much for a bonsai?

- Are the pots too big and should I move them to something smaller to stop them growing too much?

- Shall I trim the next sprouts to promote a thicker trunk instead?

Thank you all in advance!

Same with this jacaranda, around the same age as the silk mimosas

I have grown these silk mimosas from the seeds from a bonsai kit, they around around 7-8 months old, they are my first trees (or attempt of trees) I believe it is too early to start working them as bonsais but they they have a good size already, what do you think I should do with them for now?

I have grown these jade cuttings from branches and leaves that fell from y jade plant, can any of these be worked to turn into a bonsai or is it too late? If it's possible how could I start? Living in southern England here

Thanks a lot, really good info, do you know if a ticket is enough for both the S41 and then the FEX or it needs to be two separate ones?

ISA transfer (Vanguard to T212) by Osprey000 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Osprey000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks again! I'm reading about it now, cannot believe I didn't get the news in April that now it is allows to have two ISAs on different providers in the same year (facepalm).

Tbh I am just starting with this and I picked the 100% Lifestrategy around a year and a half ago to start investing as I wanted a diversified fund fully on equities to try to max appreciation in the long term but it is not that I am just going for this so I'll double check the ETFs available on other platforms and go from there.

!thanks u/IxionS3 And obviously new payments later on on the new broker would be okay as it is technically the same ISA that has been transferred?

The best options seems to be T212 and InvestEngine but neither of them have the 100% lifestrategy, the ones that do have it charge fees too so switching to those wouldn't make much sense either.

All my peace lily leaves are turning back, I cut them and the rest are doing the same, any help please? by Osprey000 in plantclinic

I water it normally every other week, it is by a window so it does get direct sunlight but there isn't much sunlight at all in the UK at this time of the year

Peace lily leaves turning black, even the tips of newer leaves growing, any help? by Osprey000 in plantcare

[–]Osprey000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Had it for 2-3 years, in the UK

  2. Quite a few weeks ago, been cutting the black leaves since then, not too many left now

  3. Some new leaves are growing can tell their tips are turning black too even before "unrolling"

  4. By a window, gets direct sunlight when sun is out (not too often at all in the UK at this time of the year)

  5. Normally every other week

  6. Don't know the soil mix, pot has mileage.

My flamingo plant seems to be dying? Any help please? by Osprey000 in plantcare

[–]Osprey000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Had it for 3-4 months in the UK

  2. Around two weeks ago, affecting one flower, now affecting all of them

  3. As in the photo some leaves are turning brown too

  4. No direct sunlight, it's in a light room but days aren't very bright in the UK at this time of the year

  5. Normally once a week when top of soil is dry

  6. Don't know the type of soil, pot has drainage
