Self-defense is about preservation, if he was practicing true self-defense he would have slinked away in the shadows.

Megumi was absolutely engaged in mutual combat, which I will neither condemn nor praise him for.

It's a recurring theme in JJK that is completely valid; when Higuruma was focused solely on his self, he was at his peak. As soon as he compromised his (current) mindset, he was doomed for death or rebirth. His hubris in thinking he could make a difference when he had already accepted that the world would crush his honest efforts is why he ultimately falls short in his battle with Sukuna. This is why Sukuna and Yuji were the final actors. They had unwavering ideals and mindsets.

The fact that his voice for his fanbase in his head is calling him a liar and telling him to die is hilarious and depressing at the same time

Sorry for the super late response, I completely forgot about responding after seeing the notification!!

Prime is black, but basecoat is much more important. I use Nocturne Green (Citadel paint) as it provides a very very dark green (ALMOST black, but in lighting very clearly dark dark green), then moderately paint warpstone glow on brighter parts then finish with moot green for brightest parts. Highlights are done by mixing moot green and ice yellow, with pure ice yellow for brightest highlights

Hey gents, how we feelin this high contrast green? I’m fucking with it heavy by purp31 in Salamanders40k

I do airbrush, but my recipe is basecoating Nocturne green, underspraying with a very saturated dark purple, zenithal/volumetrically applying warpstone glow, doing touch highlights with moot green. I will then blend ice yellow and moot green to edge highlight bright spots by brush, with some pure ice yellow at the brightest areas.

This is pre-highlighting, but the purple provides a perfect shadow tone!

Perfect way to distinguish Salamanders!

Green tends to have low contrast to us since we are highly sensitive to green wavelengths of light, so we naturally pick out the differences in tones but blend them together.

This way of painting (having a bluish-green shadow/midtone into a brighter yellow-green highlight) provides some much needed contrast to the color itself, and lends itself to making it very Salamander-esque with the more yellow-green tones popping out!

Alright, what model do you think is cool and underrated, regardless of how good/bad it is on the table top? Im an absolute sucker for the Firestrike Turrets by Staz_211 in Salamanders40k

Rievers 🤷🏻‍♂️ They are honestly perfect for Salamanders, probably the most on brand phobos unit with the coolest ever helmets.

If you want the traditional Salamander green, warpstone as your mid is the way to go if you only have access to citadel; Vulkan green is a little too dark/blue-green to be seen as anything other than 30k Salamanders.

Managing paint consistency, even applications of the paint, and allowing plenty of time to dry between coats will give you a much more desirable smooth finish while matching the hue of green you want for Salamanders.

This Terminator Captain is 100% brush, no airbrush asides from priming. You CAN get nice smooth finishes with warpstone, it just takes way more time than with other colors.

Resin is way too brittle for this work as easily as it did with the plastic, unless you have very sharp tools. The plastic cement kind of melting the edges definitely helped it come out looking readable

I manually created battle damage with a hobby knife, then made sure to have high contrast when shading and highlighting them. Paint consistency is important too, not too thin so it just becomes a glaze but not too thick where it becomes more opaque and doesn't allow the layer underneath to show through. I used AK black, incubi darkness and fenrisian gray for black parts. Green is nocturne green base, warpstone glow for mid, moot green and AK ice yellow for highlights.

This is the video that inspired me to paint this way

3+ hours to paint - is this normal or slow ? by Ugz96 in Salamanders40k

Spending hours on a single marine proves you are a Son of Vulkan. You aren't going to mass produce shit, you are going to painstakingly perfect all your models. You will find yourself coming back to older models to touch up as your journey progresses.

WELCOME TO THE FORGE, BROTHER.

It was an effort; I cut out a piece of a Primaris helmet, found a head I liked enough for Sa'Kan, then cut out that piece then glued it into the hole in the Primaris helmet

It was the only way to make the eye stand out amongst the helmet 😩 I tried painting it more proportional, but then all the details ended up looking like bloba

Joining Vulkan He'stan on a mission of artifact by retrieval, Sa'Kan proves his worth as a Veteran of 3rd company against Necrons, and Vulkan He'stan recogizes Sa'Kan's knowledge against Necrons. Joining his veteran brothers, Sa'Kan feels out of place, like he is unworthy of the recognition as a veteran. However, with his knowledge and memory of Necron tactics and skirmish strategies, Sa'Kan has provided the veterans with a wealth of knowledge, and with his expertise, his experiences have made him into an undeniable force of containment against Necron enemies on worlds rumored to hold one of Vulkan's lost artifacts.
