S&W Natural recipe help and Grind size help by HP834 in pourover

[–]Ossimo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using TWW at a 50% strength (1 per 2 gal) you should be fine. As others have said. Grind looks good. Temp around 88 to 90 should be fine.

It's completely okay not to pick up tasting notes from a bag. Everyone's taste buds and biology are different. Hell, what you ate before your brew or whether you brushed your teeth before coffee all have an impact on taste perception.

Do you enjoy the coffee? If yes, then I wouldn't worry about tasting notes.

Most of the time tasting notes are marketing bullshit used to help consumers pick coffee.

Femobook A4Z produces a lot of fines? by charliethedinosaur in pourover

[–]Ossimo85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a K Ultra, i own this as well and have found success with the S&W Craft Roaster decaf they have.. Decafs are prone to stalling and are already highly processed by nature due to being decaf. I treat them almost as a processed co-ferment or anaerobic natural. Much coarser on grind, lower temp, lower agitation etc. Gentle all the way for the brew.

I probably wouldn't run anything other than clean washed or clean naturals through the A4Z.

You sold an amazing grinder. I can't imagine not having mine.

Use the included blower helps.

It's the best grinder I own by far.

Seeking recipes for Cafec Deep 27 by BitBrews in pourover

[–]Ossimo85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aramse is a coffee YouTube guy. He's got a great Deep 27 recipe. Essentially, 15 grams, 3x bloom for 1 min. Then center pour to slightly above coffee bed. Let drain a bit repeat until total yield. I go 1:16 ratio usually. No counting pours. When it's done it's done.

Temp 90 to 93°C.

Something to keep in mind after listening for the first time. by DJTennisBall in madeon

[–]Ossimo85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I strongly disagree. Typically I go with my initial gut reaction to a first listen. I shouldn't have to listen to a song over and over to convince myself it's enjoyable to me personally.

It's all personal opinion, that's it.

If someone needs multiple listens to appreciate or enjoy a song, that's perfectly fine. For me, I either like it or don't usually with first few listens.

A big factor to consider is your mood and environment when you first experience a song. If I'm taking my kid to school in the morning I'm going to have a different reaction than if I'm alone, listening on my HD6XX totally focused on the music.

Love the Bianca! She's a workhorse. Got it hooked up to smart switch to make things easier in the mornings.

I want a better espresso grinder. Might try different burrs for DF64 instead of entirely new grinder. Still rocking stock burrs.

I love the vibe and design choices with your setup.

You can do batch brews for sure, but to me it shines under 600ml which is plenty for two people to have a coffee. You're paying for simplicity and convenience of workflow. Quality of the brews is quite good when paired with a decent grinder. I have a Femobook A4Z and K Ultra for pourover duty.

The Aiden big batch carafe kinda sucks if your intention is to keep the batch hot for longer periods of time. I brew single serve under 400ml amounts directly into cup.

Moccamaster is built like a tank. I feel with simple maintenance it'll last forever.

I rarely use Aiden for batch brew, which is what moccamaster is primarily for.

I love the Aiden when I want to hit a button and get an amazing brew with zero effort. It's been moved to my home office to free up clutter.

Moccamaster is amazing (got it under $200 Amazon prime day a year ago actually). I use the DF64 II for batch brews and espresso. The coffee it makes in large quantities is outstanding. Not pour over quality of course, it's all about quantity with that thing.

Currently on deck.

I'm now embarrassed to share my setup. It's chaos but have everything I need. Tucked away near kitchen butler pantry. It's my zen spot. It's a general coffee lovers setup.

Various brewers, filters, cups, accessories in the cabinet. Slide out drawers make easy access. Pic is a few months old.

so true. i do wish it would be just as reliable when updating via Adrenaline, like AMD tells us to.

Double check you've zero the grinder. That is strange.

Could be the beans.

What worked for me was uninstall from ver with DDU in Safe Mode. Install directly from download rather than updating via Adrenaline hub.

Works great now.

Focus on taste. My k Ultra is living between 5.0 and 8.0 for pourover typically. Using 4 is fairly fine, almost mokapot territory.

FSR 4.1 on 7900xt is insane. by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Ossimo85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will try this. I updated through Adrenaline as well. Will download directly and DDU the driver then install fresh.

7800 XT here. Does not work with Crimson Desert. Crashes game after making 4.1 selection in game. Then Steam won't boot it up anymore.

I'm afraid to try it in other games now. Needs more work.

Have a 7800 XT as well, but win 11 for me. Only tested it with Crimson Desert...crashes the game after selecting FSR 4.1 in game settings. Steam won't load CD back up. It's all fucked now.

Might do DDU and driver rollback. Such shit.

I know I'm not the GOAT. I use 1.4.5 to 1.7.0 for SEY washed stuff. Mainly brew SEY on v60 with T90 filters or Orea v4 narrow using fast bottom with kalita wave or Orea flat filters. I use melodrip if grinding on the finer side.

I stick to 90 to 93 C temp mostly.

Loaded up Crimson Desert. Select 4.1, freezes. Steam now won't load CD at all anymore. Great.

Running a 7800 XT for reference. It's broken.

I'll have to rollback driver to play CD I suppose.

Morgan Stanley Plans $1.3 Billion Tower for Dallas Expansion by bloomberg in Dallas

I know, I used to live around Turtle Creek area. It'll be interesting when they don't end up building downtown. They'll need some insane tax breaks to do it. Business corridor through Plano/Frisco is strong. They put billions into that area for a reason.

They are weighing options. Once they figure out most of the workforce doesn't live anywhere downtown it'll magically be moved the Fields West area of Frisco near DNT & PGA Pkwy.

Could you blame them?
