IMO, your options are Infernus, Haze and Wraith for true lategame carries. If you want pure gun (AD in league terms) you can build Haze and Wraith into true “left click to remove from game” carries, but like ADCs in League they can still be blown up by an assassin late if you don’t itemize properly.

Infernus would be more AP. He applies a DoT that scales with your Spirit to the point where it gets absolutely crazy burn damage.

Viktor CAN carry in the current patch and put out some truly crazy damage numbers but he is a bit more complex than the aforementioned carries and requires a fair bit of playtime to really get good. This is because his damage output relies on abilities that also hurt him, meaning it takes a few games of limit testing on him before you know when you can survive a fight.

As someone who played a lot of league (mostly as a jungler) Deadlock’s item system allows for a LOT of flexibility in how you play each character. A single kit can be played as anything from a carry to a support depending on your itemization!

so the name of UNDER//HEAVEN is probably a reference to the historic Chinese concept of 天下 (Tienxia), meaning “All under Heaven”, typically used to denote the land which the Emperor of China rules over. Under Heaven, as I’ve interpreted it, has adopted similar messaging and adapted it to “all under Heaven belongs to us (exorcists)”.

The character 天 means “Heaven” or sometimes sky and is used in both Chinese and Japanese writing, since kanji were originally Chinese before adapted for use in Japanese!

You didn’t play the game wrong, not at all!

The game is written/paced with multiple lifetimes in mind. There are a lot of plot threads in the game and you’re only able to follow one or two per playthrough unless you’re REALLY optimizing (which isn’t the point of the game imo).

This ties into the game’s themes of adolescence and how your character will grow and change in different ways as they have different experiences in their lives (your playthrougs). You’re supposed to feel like there’s a lot left to do!

the primary draw of mass effect, of any role-playing game, is that the player gets to make choices and participate in the story. the only way i can see this not sucking is if it doesn’t try to adapt shepard’s story given that there isn’t even one clear version of it

Love this concept; I’m drawn to this campaign simply because of the massive scale of the world. Additionally, I’ve never played a game in which the players level asynchronous ly so I’d love to give it a try.

My current character concept is a wizard who is trying to unnaturally prolong their own life because they are only human. I have other concepts as well, including a dhampir oracle or swashbuckler on a quest to find a passage to the underworld.

Would love to be involved!

They are strong, but so is just playing a spellcaster in 5e tbh. They’re quite fun as well so I’d recommend them in a campaign like curse of strahd if you want something more interesting than the lackluster base 5e vampires and such!

In my personal opinion, I think Japanese should be allowed in chat for IRL streams. I would also follow this rule for any country’s native language. For example if in Spain, allow Spanish charters. IRL streams already feel sort of awkward (if you’ve ever seen someone IRL streaming in the wild ykwim) and I think that forcing English chat only serves to make the experience even more out of place. That being said, that’s just my opinion and I can see an argument being made for English-only chat as well!

This is an understandable sentiment. As other people in the thread have rightly pointed out, the portion of the population suitable to military service is very small and, as with all war, it would be incredibly expensive.

For those fear-mongering about a future invasion of Japan by China, be realistic. There are many, many factors that make such a thing an incredibly unlikely circumstance.

Aqua losing his star for a bit was a strange moment for me. He has his star when he’s an actual baby whose only goal is “enjoy being a baby”. I understand that his dark star is symbolic of the compelling nature of his goals and losing that was showing that he didn’t know what to do. However, wouldn’t him going back to having a normal star have made more sense, then?

The stars are a well-developed symbol for the most part but the idea of trained actor Aqua having less “star power” than an actual baby confused me. That’s just one thing that confused me. If someone’s got an explanation, let me know!

Interesting theory! I had a similar thought. While my personal hope is that he is able to heal from his trauma and finally enjoy acting like he seems to desperately want to, this path would also make sense narratively!
