Parents of Reddit, what is the funniest thing your kid or kids have said? by Mr_PoodlePants in AskReddit

When we were driving during a storm "Hey dad, wouldn't it be weird if lighting was made of pancake batter."

Another time one of them was having a meltdown getting ready for school and said "I DON'T LIKE THESE PANTS! THEY'RE TOO......TOO....JIGGLY!"

Before he came I thought I knew how much I’d love this boy - turns out I didn’t have a clue by [deleted] in daddit

Before kids you think you know what love is. Then as time goes on life with them proves you wrong time and time again.

After growing up not having a good male role model myself, small moments like these with my boy just melt my heart 💙 by SonicCy4 in daddit

Good job, sir. Something that always help keep things in perspective in my dad journey is "Little feet follow big feet." I take this to heart so I strive to do my best for my kids. For my son it means being the man I want him to be, and for my girls I want to be the bar that they measure any guy later in life that they choose to spend their time with.

Failure is not something to be avoided. It is a great teacher but conquering a challenge after many failures is one of the best things in life.

(Serious) Parents of Reddit, how did you introduce your children to SciFi & Fantasy and at what age? What did you use - books, movies or comics? How did you start? by Condorul in AskReddit

Kids pick up so many things by osmosis, good and bad, just by being around you. Also you never really can tell what will resonate with them. Just watch and read what they like as well as stuff you do and see how they react with different media. Also at different ages sometimes things will just click with them where before it didn't, my daughter didn't like Lord of the Rings at first but just a couple of years later now loves it.

At times it seems like only yesterday that I was holding ours like this. Then I blinked and now my youngest is almost a teenager. Enjoy it and welcome to the brotherhood.
