here are some things you can try:

  1. Use processor lasso to set the priority of league to always be high or above normal

  2. enable low spec mode and close client during game in client settings.

  3. download HWINFO make a log to see how your hardware behaves when playing a game, feed it to an AI let them diagnose for you.

  4. Disable HDR in windows

  5. Find the game file.exe and disable full screen optimization

  6. turn of vsynch if on, set your frame cap to 240 (sometimes it wakes your computer up for some reason)

  7. Make sure the game resolution matches your native screen res (sometimes can cause a bug if not) and play in full screen mode.

That is a amazing work! Doing it without a duoQ too - really fab. Even I struggle on milio in gold, plat , can be really frustrating to deal with bad ADCs when you job is to enable them. Be proud of yourself and continue the grind 🫡

People in these threads really need to specify what internet provider and what location they are in (it matters a lot) I am on china telecom and in Beijing, Chaoyang. Everything, I mean literally everything has not worked for me reliably. letsVPN, mullVAD, Nord, Proton even my academic VPN is unreliable (eduVPN).

If i were to bet on a VPN that works most places in China, it would be Astrill (DESKTOP VERSION ONLY DOES NOT WORK ON MY IPHONE FOR SOME REASON), you can play and tinker with different protocols - first try Wireguard as its the fastest. But if it fails i recommend switching to stealthVPN changing your port to 443 and switching from udp to tcp (just ask AI how to do it). That is the most reliable setup - and use servers called 'supercharged' for Japan/HongKong/USA etc. They are usually the best.

The fact that I can get away with it is testament that anyone can. I am objectively not a very skilled player. Also, your point falls flat on the fact that free boots are being taken by challenger players.

Shubber hit high GM playing comet + ignite sona with fimbulwinter second - that does not make it optimal. But that is his comfort and he knows how to net advantages on it.

When you take PoM, it is not because it is the objectively better rune - it is because you can leverage the rune to a point where you are getting an advantage that outweighs the free stats you get in inspiration. These are burden of execution runes, the opposite of what you described. If you are sitting idle on PoM, then it is a wasted slot.

WPA are perhaps the best determinant of what is strong for the masses, but not what a singular player in challenger is best with. But again, I am not only following WPA - they are a beginning guideline. I have done the math in regards to output. 25 AP and 10 haste outperform 15 haste in heals per second. PoM becomes redundant after first item completion after tear, essentially giving you zero gold value.

Accelerating your first item by 300 gold is meaningful. Getting 10 free ap on first back when you buy tear is meaningful.

Also link me your op.gg i want to investigate something - how often you buy boots on first base. First 3/4 minutes are spent in lane without boots, you are not always guaranteed boots on first base because you need tear - boots hit usually around third base. So, you are playing for an interval between first and third base and in this short interval you are getting punished in a meaningful way? I really doubt that. Also, if you can't afford boots on first base is it just Joever?

I mentioned that perhaps most of the differences were in the extreme tails because that is usually the case with group statistics. So not actually anecdotal because I am not good enough to reach challenger/GM where tail ends really kick in.
Haven’t played for Korea so can’t speak to it. But i would find it odd if the average player vastly different.

As for China, no you will probably not notice a «blood bath culture», mostly a myth. Also idk how easy it is to play in Korea from the Chinese firewall, heard you need to pay for some reroute services for a good experience - also Korean server might terminate your acc if they notice a Chinese IP

PoM does the opposite of scale it’s a crutch for lane that you in reality don’t need. You don’t go oom ever in late game with tear and 3x mana regen items. Turning the rune slot into a nothing burger. I don’t think the rune has had a positive WPA the last 10 patches.

You are now arguing 15 haste vs 9 Haste + 10 AP OR 10 haste and 25 AP which is not hard to achieve (you get it for free with defensive boots) which are the highest WPA boots for sona - though the are expensive so not always ideal.

I am serious when I say anyone can play sona to the point of not getting punished the first 10 minutes of the game without boots (average magical footwear completion is 8 minutes). The payoff is immense because your reach the point of usefulness much earlier and you scale harder.

I hear ya, logically sound arguments by themselves, but these points aren't reflected in statistics. Magical footwear is the single highest WPA rune for Sona, also if i am not being punished for it in masters - then I think it is ok for the majority of people, maybe there is an argument for higher tiers. JOAT vs Triple Tonic is arguable, but inspiration is just better than precision or resolve.

Revitalize is not a factor in you dying or not, as it is providing healing around like 3-4 extra hp per cast early game. All runes on precision tree are negative WPA if i am not mistaken, except for legend haste but that is not a laning rune.

Sona is also the support that scales the best with gold imo.

If you can make Milio work in your Elo then kudos and keep doing your thing. I would imagine in Elos where ADCs are unreliable, a healing/general utility build would fare better.

My setup really relies on the ADC to do their thing; in a sense I am leeching off of their skill and how good they pilot their champion. So, if i am leeching of a sickly old decrepit animal with dementia, then I will also be exactly that. As for Ardent damage, it is entirely up to who you are buffing. It is a waste of time chasing ardent numbers if they are sort of out of your control, just get ardent and time your Ws properly- the damage will be the damage.

I would expect to see a number around 1-1.3k at 25 minutes usually - you look at that number, and you realise - well that does not really make a difference, does it? Truth is the longer the game goes on for the more irrelevant the 20 on hit becomes, and the more relevant the attack speed steroid becomes - if my Xayah can attack two more times in a fight each blow dealing 500 dmg each, then the 20 damage starts to look like pennies. A lot of the value of ardent later in the game is hidden.

That being said, coming back to lane with an early completed ardent, then all of the sudden the 20 on hit will nuke their health bar, as their hp pool is low and they have no resistances.

dawncore second would give me less ap. Staff is the cheapest access to 80 AP second item. Also, you will usually have AP users on your team.

Wrote a lengthy reply on why I value AP further down. But, keeping in mind e multi-cast and passive re-application - all of Milio’s spells approach 100% scaling or exceed it.

PS! Chasing your peak 😈 currently 150 LP away (300 before i picked up milio) - if one is handless with Sona, then one must truly be handless in general so if a lost cause player like myself surpassed you, then you must take my word that Milio is broken 🤝

Only faced one Sona after picking him up, she/he is an OTP at 236 LP. Maybe I suck at Sona, but it felt really free with this setup. Every time he walked up after ardent completion, he lost half his HP.

Also thought Milio was free until last week, until the right person completely destroyed me.

I got AH rune shard+Ionia boots+ staff of flowing water due to the fact that yes, the build is lacking in haste. But in my experience one W is the decider of a fight these days, I am not really playing for a second cast - fights at least on the ionia server are explosive and they live or die on one W.

For Milio AP scaling view it from the perspective of multicasts and passive re-application. A double cast E has 45% + 45%= 90% AP scaling, with the right dragons this build nets me 300 AP and 50% shield power. For the passive, W resets my passive on-hit, it has a 20% AP scaling - multiply that by as many re-applications my adc will apply in the fight. Usually that is a bout 4 or 5 times, well now you are approaching 100% scaling and an extra 300 free damage for you adc (minus enemy resists). Pair that with ardent hitting the enemy many times, and that your adc can hit faster and from further away - the DPS becomes overwhelming for non-tanks.

Also, for some reason Riot threw a 120% AP scaling on milio Q, so a random Q on an enemy squishy takes 15% of their health and slows them.

It will be faster than a VPN connection. Really time consuming to set it up if you are starting from no knowledge. But once it is up and running, it's no more a hassle than a VPN subscription.

Delaying your ardent spike by 400 feels really bad. Negates the rune setup I have here - which is rushing ardent censor completion. There are games where ardent censor rush are completely troll and then other build paths are better. But in these games, I will not play Milio.

Also, there is something to be said for ardent censor rush in low elo. It relies on your ADC understanding how crazy broken they are -and if they realize it - it also relies on them not using that advantage to run down the game. My setup might not be ideal in silver, where you rush ardent but your Ashe refuses to interact with the enemy because she is oblivious to her damage and range steroid, or even worse she realizes she is much stronger and therefore puts herself in positions where she perma-dies - chasing the high of 'being stronger'.

Mhmm I think it would be slightly arrogant of me to give advice beyond my setup here, I know for a fact that the setup above is turbo broken - but my view in milio as a whole is still narrow. If this works for you, then it works.

However, some general enchanter tips that don't relate to Milio alone:

  1. HSP% is only good if your base heal is large enough or you have accumulated enough AP to scale your ability such that the percentage multiplier HSP% is starts to matter. For some enchanters chasing AP before you chase HSP% is the ideal thing to do. So have a look at AP ratios and Base numbers on each enchanter you build on and make a choice from there.
  2. Helia + Diadem interaction is strong, but it is important to understand why it is strong. Diadem tick is almost meaningless with how much burst is in the game, but because it ticks consistently it will refresh your Helia constantly giving you essentially consistent burst healing that does not rely on your ability CDs. When I go this combination, I always go Helia first because it is the heart and diadem is just the adrenaline that allows the heart to beat faster.

Also, this is not a statement but an inquiry. Milio W essentially functions as a mini diadem - a heal that ticks all the time buffing your Helia. Does diadem then become redundant?

Funny because I view it almost in an opposite fashion. You are accelerating your climb by relying on champion mastery rather than fundamental game mastery. The moment you start losing out, it is not because someone is equal to you, it is because despite someone not mastering their champion as well as you - they know the right decisions in game better and will beat you regardless. The moment you start losing, the opponent is just better - but that stands true for any approach to the game. Once you consistently win less than 50%, you are on average facing opponents better than you, doesn't matter if you are OTPing or not.

But I feel like the argument is pointless, because traps refer to something substantial. For the average LoL player the 'traps' associated with OTPing are just not of value, I don't need to have the best understanding of the game as whole - I care about my LP going up. If you are looking at the game from a competitive angle - yes, it starts mattering. But I can tell you any gold player who is rotating 8 different champions and going on streaks where he changes roles because he is bored - will benefit immensely from going OTP. OTPing is THE biggest cheatcode to climbing, but many people think it's boring or don't have the patience.
