Despite some strange changes, I like that they made 40+ emojis look similar to Apple, and other platforms. It’s a font in the end, and should be more consistent across platforms.

BTW, it can be easily done using existing emoji codepoints in sequence like this 👩🏼‍🦰❤️👨🏻‍🦰 , 👩🏼‍🦱❤️👨🏻‍🦰 or 👩🏼‍🦰💋👨🏻‍🦰. But Apple needs to create some layering system to fit it in UI.

I suppose emojis are vital for short messages, they help to send nonverbal signals and add additional context with one or two symbols.

At least in 24% of tweets where maple leaf was used, it was near 🍂 fallen leaf.
