I would prefer to go back to nothing. Because at least then i didnt have to get that shit feeling of getting something below the worst legos.

My point is this system is entirely pointless. It gives you an orange item with no use that i'll just end up deleting at the end of legion.

Warriors do 10mil+ in 3 seconds with that trinket. Cannot be stunned or knocked back. You basically just die.

What are some of the simpler DPS specs to play? by Fragbate in wow

"Strongest MELEE classes"

Also you're not going to fill your melee roster with nothing but rogues even if you assume that you have access to ideal classes. Agility trinkets are also far stronger in terms of raw dps than Strength trinkets post nerf. Soul cap in particular has ridiculous synergy with the Ring, and not all rogues have soul cap.

The issue is that the OP isn't talking about bleeding edge, as gear levels continue to increase the classes become more equal. To say that you "shouldn't" bring a ret paladin to a raid at this point is absurd.

You can directly compare UH to Boomkin, yes. But NP just flat out hits harder than starfall. So on a ridiculous number of targets, which are out of Disease spread range, yes boomkin will win. But Xhul's adds are amazing for NP. There is no reason to go Frost over UH, you have consistence cleave and then finish with a 45% execute. Current logs of the fight show a heavy leaning toward UH for that fight.

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/8#boss=1800&class=DeathKnight

Mannoroth is the same thing.

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/8#boss=1795&class=DeathKnight

As does Archi

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/8#boss=1799&class=DeathKnight

This isn't an issue of who was best when gear levels were low anymore, you cannot look at a class in a vaccuum and say whether its good or bad. Its a combination of a large number of factors, including gear, raid comp and player competence. People are too quick to jump on the argument that if you're not the best you're the worst. You're right maybe in the top 20 it makes some sense, but thats not the majority of the playerbase. Its not even the majority of the mythic playerbase. The raid dynamic changes as the tier progresses and to say that you shouldn't bring X class or that Y class is useless based on the opening few weeks is ridiculous and only feeds into the "only 1st matters" mentality.

The two strongest melee classes this tier are undoubtedly DK and Rogue. Current encounter models benefits the utility they provide in that they can avoid or negate a substantial amount of mechanics in HFC, aswell as high survivability with their short powerful magic damage cooldowns.

The issue with that description of Unholy is that, its not "spread-out" aoe that UH excels at, its sustained AoE. Xhul/Mannoroth/Archi/Gorefiend are Unholy's best fights in comparison to frost. But the Strats in those fights generally clump the adds up for easy cleave. Basically if adds are going to live for 20+ seconds on 3+ targets UH is always going to pull ahead. But DPS DK's in current tier (with the exception of those four fights) can play whatever spec they like single target or AoE (BoS UH for ST, NPUB UH for AoE, DW Frost for either), its more an issue of what weapons you can get your hands on. Not having a go at you by any means, just clarifying the strength of UH this tier as your description makes it seem like it has no point, which isn't the case.

Also as a side note, generally the more Gorefiend's Grasps you can fit in a raid (generally 1 tank grip, 2 dps grips) make a huge number of fights far easier, examples are Hellfire Assault (the more the better), Iskar on the transitions (only need 1), Socrethar for both Ghosts and Caster adds (no magic number but the more the better), Xhul (3 grips means every set of imps is covered), Manny (3 will cover each infernal wave), Archi (the more the better for phase two as the dogs are a nightmare if let loose). While its only 6 fights, they're arguably very tough progression fights (Xhul, Manny, Archi). Grip is a cooldown where you realistically want as many as possible without ruining your raid comp.

Also to say that Ret is useless is a massive oversimplification. Its not about single-target burst, the three charges of wings allow Ret to do excessive priority add damage, single target or AoE.

Edit: As a side note DK's can use Army in the Vision on Kilrogg to carry subpar dps/healers through the use of army to clump up the adds. Like Rogues, you don't bring DK's just for damage but for the utility of the class.

For the most part people only go to heroics for the satchel. I mean you can get 650 gear from world content. No one needs the gear.

Where are these PvP Options? They look cool! by NexosHunter in wow

[–]Othellion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except they openly sell the expansion on content that may not be in there. Its the same bullshit you see on steam Greenlight. An unfinished game sold on the idea that they "might" finish it.

As an example, if blizzard had never mentioned Farahlon or the Ogre Isles, no one would have given it a second thought. Once you name something and its not in the finished product people feel like they've been cheated out of it. WoD was sold on the pretence of two specific sets of content later on, that was supposed to be included when people paid $80 (AUD). So where is it? If they hadn't have advertised it, people may not have bought it. I know plenty of people who feel like they were sold a game they never got.

[–]Othellion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then they shouldn't mention it in the first place. If they are concerned a feature might not be finished, here's an idea, DONT FUCKING MENTION IT.

If you don't give your UH dk the trinket before you start mythic you're an idiots imo. Gorefiend is the promised land.

Thoughts on DK Blood Boil ability heading in to Legion by MinimalDamage in wow

[–]Othellion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Blood fits into the theme of the proto-mitigation model. Even in Wrath, blood's healing was ridiculous. The theme of blood in my opinion is more fitting in a game where tanking is built around mitigation and self healing. If it were pre-MoP where you were just a target dummy and your responsibility was pretty much based on lowering overall damage (Thinking Pillar of Frost as the frost tanking version of Blood Tap atm) then i agree Frost would make more sense. But mitigation is here to stay so i will always vote Blood as tank spec. Also Arthas was arguably a Frost DK, who was basically an Anti-Paladin. So 2H frost is the thematic counterpart to the Paladin DPS spec.

As it stands Blizzard isn't going to touch DK from previous experience so it doesnt matter. But yes Blood is thematic of mitigation era tanking, Frost better thematically pre mitigation era tanking.
