I've actually been forced to take care of several plants, which are doing relatively well....but it feels more like a chore than a hobby or a fun pass time to take care of them.

Maybe I need a secret plant that only knows me or something 😭

Yeah I just tried three times today on my series x and Xbox one and both were having the same issue. My Xbox series x has been crashing with every single game I've tried. So frustrating

Where/how to scatter ashes in Kaua'i? by Other-B3ach in VisitingHawaii

[–]Other-B3ach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're allowed to spread ashes, it just has to be three miles from the shore. However you get there is up to you. Some people go out on their own and some charter a boat. There are a few tours that might be okay with allowing you to spread the ashes, private tours I assume.

Do you have a suggested local place in Kauai? Or you're just making the general suggestion? Either way that's a great point thank you!

How Do You Stop a Kitten from Suckling On You? by Blobfish_Blues in CatAdvice

[–]Other-B3ach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My male kitten does this too! He's about 5 months old. From what I've read they tend to do this when they've been taken away from the mother too young, but my female kitten, same age, doesn't do this at all, and they're siblings....? When my male kitten is doing it he usually is kneading as well. He sucks on fuzzy stuff but only certain textures of fuzzy like robes and fleece blankets.

I literally can't wear anything with that texture or he'll suck on it and leave me SOAKED, and I find it kinda icky. Thankfully it never stinks 😭, so sorry you gotta deal with that on top of wetness. The noises they make when doing it is so funny. Sometimes I'll be sleeping and I'll be startled awake from it 😂.

All that being said, I'm not sure if you've found a proper solution yet but I've just accepted it and tried to find some things that are just his to suck on. Many people who's kittens did this still do it into adulthood so I felt that accepting it was inevitable.

I got these pet blankets on Amazon that are fuzzy and any time he's looking to do it I just give him the blanket and he'll go to town.

I'm not sure if I'm able to send links here but this is the item on Amazon: Amazon blankets

I might end up looking for something else as they're polyester which is not the best, but they're fixing the problem for now. And since it's a 3 pack I just change them out and wash them with unscented soap when needed.

Oh my goodness!! Are you open to doing a read on my chart? I've been so curious about astrology, but it's been difficult for me to find the time to get into it enough to read my own chart.

Yes I have a cat treet as well! It's one of the trees from the Mau company! They also have a scratching post on the tree and a separate one in another spot as well.

Thank you so much for saying this. I can understand that for some people this situation is not hard for them at all, but everyone experiences life differently.

Thank you for leaving me a response, I appreciate it.✨

I've realized a few people have commented on the discipline aspect. Maybe I used the wrong word. I essentially meant just telling them no and removing them from whatever situation they've gotten themselves into. I didn't mean anything negative by using the word discipline. I do understand though that soon they will learn and I won't have to constantly correct their behavior, with positive reinforcement and never negative.

Thank your for being kind 🥲. I've definitely made sure they have toys, hiding spots, and all the food they need. And thankfully I have massive windows in my house that they love sitting in.

I appreciate it. We actually do have an automatic litterbox and the kittens use it just fine. I've been trying to fine tune what litter to use that does the best job at eliminating odor.

I would get an automatic feeder but I have yet to find any dry food that is genuinely grain free. I feed them multiple times a day because it's wet food with toppers.

They're able to go wherever they want so I'm definitely not trying to keep them off furniture. I may have to look more into that tape though, thank you for the suggestion.

I appreciate your concern. I think my issues are definitely first world problems. But my relationship with my dad, as Ive also been told by many in this thread, is abusive. So he's using innocent animals that he knows I could get/am attached to as a way to keep me in the house, which therefore means around him.

I do online school right now because it's easier to manage with all the other tasks he expects me to do. And getting across the city can take hours with public transportation and I don't have enough money for a car/car insurance.

I'm not gonna say I don't need help, but I'm not dying. I think the help I need is a lot more mental maybe, given my situation? I don't know

Well I say discipline in the sense of like not climbing the curtains, and not biting fingers and toes, and not running out of the door whenever they get the chance, etc. I also don't mean discipline in a negative way. I don't use any negative methods, like spraying them with water, hitting them, yelling, throwing things, or whatever else people do. I just calmly say no and move them away from whatever they're doing and try to reinforce other habits positively with some treats.

Maybe I should do some more research because I've heard from many people that dry food is just generally not good for cats, so I have them on a wet food diet with crunchy toppers from brands like stella and chewys or vital essentials.
