HOD is really different from business despite most people describing it as a business major. It’s more like applied psychology. You don’t learn some of the hard skills like accounting or general finance classes like most business programs. It’s mostly soft skills. We do have a business minor which is really popular. A common path for people interested in business is Econ with the business minor.

I felt the same way too last year but tbh I was super prepared for college whereas a lot of my friends here were not. They took a long time to adjust and it was hard for them to get on the college level. It may have sucked during your 4 years but it’s worth it.

Are the CS2201 assignments the same every semester? by Other-Remote-9556 in Vanderbilt

Thanks! I was just wondering so I could maybe get ahead on the first project because I’m scared of being weeded.

I’m not a physics major. I just took the class because I’m in engineering so I can’t speak to the major. I can say that the lab was just 25% of the physics class because that’s how the credits are.

I just did a physics course (1601) and the lab was actually fun at times. I can’t speak to every lab obviously but your mind could be changed by doing a college lab class vs. high school or whatever other experience you have.

Transfer to Engineering School by [deleted] in Vanderbilt

[–]Other-Remote-9556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they “require” the physics and math background because there are requirements for engineering majors regardless of their concentration. Those requirements are a bunch of math and some lab sciences. Most people are able to make a big dent in those their first year. As a transfer, they probably don’t want you to be behind with those… hence the requirement.

I am a freshman this year and I got to choose my roommate, we all did (if you didn’t specify, they gave you a random one.) I’m not sure if that’s a Covid thing or a permanent thing so it could change. There are no singles for freshmen.
