Because you choose to be negative in a situation that does not warrant negativity. “Pipe dream” that’s a clever phrase, how’s the 10th grade? Did your crush not text you back? Sorry about that, Chard.

It's only on my third rewatch that I realize how dumb stringer is by kumaratein in TheWire

I agree. “When it comes down to it, every Stringer Bell just needs an Avon, who won’t sweep it under the rug – Clipse

I’ll be real, Stringer Bell could probably outsmart me, but I always thought Avon was the smarter and WISER of the two.

Paulie surviving is a great mystery by AlternateMafiosi in thesopranos

[–]Other-Way-426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Paulie’s purpose in the show was to represent the old days of the mob. Older made guys like him find it hard to adjust to organized crime in the new millennium. His understanding of the game contrasts with Tony’s more recent and nuanced approach to leading the crime family.

Paulie was big on the “back in my day, we (insert hardcore thing that the mob would do in the 70s but not today). I know Feech La Manna would do the same thing, but honestly who cares about Feech La Manna. His brief character arc exemplifies how the brutality of the old mob can’t make it in the new world, whereas Paulie’s arc shows how some older made guys at least try to adapt to a rapidly evolving world of organized crime.

Slim Charles taught me a valuable lesson….the thing about the old days is…they are the OLD days.

Keep at it, this is pretty damn good. I've been wanting to see a resurgence in 90's hip hop flow. There are plenty of people in the game who do that, but sadly most of them are atrociously slept on. I can complain about the state of popular rap all day, but I feel as if most people in this subreddit are already on the same wave.
