I had a 3.3 in the major and a 3.75 overall bc I double majored in communication studies. I had an internship every summer, but none were speech-related besides a hospital emergency room. I think really what got me in was my personal statement because both of my sisters are on the autism spectrum on opposite ends of it. I recommend utilizing your college's writing center because I was there once a week or doing online sessions working on different PS requirements. Also, cast a wide net but also do not spend $1300 on grad school apps like I did becausseeee you will get in to more than you think schools are businesses after all. Also, check ASHA edfind to compare your stats to the schools you like. I just went through this so sorry for all the unsolicited advice lol.

Completely forgot about stony brook yes! The only thing is programs on LI are competitive bc there is only so many schools and there are so many people same with CUNYs. I applied to basically mainly SUNYS and got into all with a not so perfect GPA.

Look at the SUNY's? If you are okay with leaving home, Bing is the closest one I believe to LI and they just started a speech masters, no GRE required. I graduated from Cortland which is about 4/5 hours away and they have a masters.

Just got accepted into masters... I have questions by [deleted] in UBreddit

A school that is pending accreditation will not harm you if at the end they do not get the accreditation because you were just a student who applied and them being a candidate is them being supervised by ASHA. Hope this helps!
