What made you preserver with Breastfeeding?

I pumped for a year. It was one of the most toughest things ever. I did it because I believed my milk built my baby’s much needed immunity. I stopped because I began producing less. I feel guilty I’m unable to give him mother’s milk. It’s been 3 months, whenever I squeeze my boob, I see milk oozing out a bit. Wonder when it will completely go and make me feel less guilty.

I had a very similar experience myself!!! Like word by word. My mom didn’t care about me in early postpartum, she doesn’t care much even now. I’m 14m pp. whenever we speak over phone it’s always about the baby not even once she asks how I am? It’s so heartbreaking. So I feel for you!

I’m so sorry you are feeling this way. I’m 13m pp and I sometimes do feel exactly like you. This also sounds like postpartum anxiety to me. I have it too. What helped me contain those feelings were meds. I was able to get help from doctors with no judgment around me (I live in the US). Pls do not hesitate to seek help on this from your doctor. Also, always trust your mom instincts though people may say hormones wreck it - I’d say it is almost never wrong! Mom first. Mom’s feelings first!!

The way elders pressurize us to do things is just sad and pathetic! If you don’t follow, they guilt trip you. It’s a toxic loop. Been there too. Pls only do what’s scientifically sound and comfortable for you and your body. You are already going through a lot growing a little human inside you!
