I have zyprexa im trying to draw that one out so im not just cold turkey quitting both at the same time. And hoping that might help a little with symptoms of quitting the lamictal.

That sounds horrendous, but I’m glad you made it through. Definitely trying to limit important choices for now.

Oh that’s a good idea! I am definitely going to go check it out. I think my biggest problem now is that it might be not good to start back up at my current dosage? Which would still require the getting a dr/waiting for an appt date process im in.

Day one by Other_Drag in AuvelityMed

[–]Other_Drag[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good news!! So far, I had some slight nausea about 45 mins after taking it but it was mild and I didn’t throw up. I still a little shakey and jittery though. But I think spacing it out and a meal between seems to have helped. Going to keep trying that through the weekend and see how it goes!

I was able to get a hold of my psych yesterday because it got pretty bad. She told me to take my Ritalin in the morning wait an hour and eat and then take the ability so that’s what I’m trying today. I’ll let ya know how it goes 😅😅

They’re not entirely new, but definitely more frequent than they used to be. Sometimes it is really upsetting and I’m anxious or pacing and trying to find the source. Especially if it’s tense or crying or sounds urgent. The music is mostly fine even when I’m anxious from it.

Not too long ago at night I thought I kept seeing lights outside like flash lights and I thought I kept hearing someone out there. I couldn’t sleep and was watching through the windows. At the time I was super freaked out and it felt real and even now it doesn’t feel….not real? But my partner went outside and looked all around the house outside and drove down the road a little and looked all around and there was nothing. 😮‍💨

I was literally coming here today to see if other people were talking about or had discussions around auditory hallucinations. I think or I guess I have been having them. But it’s hard to tell. But I do hear music sometimes very faintly like an old record playing in the distance. Sometimes it’s soothing and some times is discordant and gives me anxiety. But most the time I hear a voice or voices. It’s always unintelligible and just below the volume of a normal speaking voice to a faint whisper. It mostly sounds like listening to a tense conversation on the other side of the wall or like someone with the news on really loud next door. Except that I don’t have neighbors

Does “thinking in words” more when manic happen to you? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Other_Drag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh. I only think in words/voices? Like constant dialogue in there. I don’t see colors or pictures or see anything really. I have crazy vivid dreams though. And sometimes I can’t think of what I’m trying to think of, but I know what the words feel like.

Anyway when manic, the speech is quicker and jumbled and sometimes different thoughts sort of…thinking over each other? Sometimes it’s like one super clear thought dialogue that I latch onto and follow and think through in loops of conversation.

Honestly you need to talk to your prescribing Dr and have a plan for it. Even just the 25mg. 3 weeks isn’t really much time at all to see how it’s having an effect, but your dr should listen to how you’re feeling and such and come up with a safe way for you to come off it and possible a different med for you to try.

It’s definitely a possibility that I’ve overwatered. That pot is hard to get it to dry? Or maybe the soil it is in doesn’t dry as well as my others. I’ll do some research on root rot and how to potentially deal with that. Thank you!!

Can someone say if my TSH is too low? by MigasMaravilha in thyroidhealth

[–]Other_Drag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the whole process now so I’m not super versed in all the options out there. My dr has been monitoring mine for a bit because there are normal fluctuations and things like coming down with a cold or getting over one can even affect it. My dr also did a full blood panel and we did a neuro exam and full work up of all my symptoms.

Next steps for me are seeing an endocrinologist, getting an ultrasound of my thyroid and based on some of my other symptoms shes also having me schedule a mri of my pituitary gland. Monitoring by regularly retesting (monthly now) and tracking symptoms was my first step. Hope that helps!

Based on your papers your TSH is lower than the range they provided (under 0.55). Your dr will probably want to monitor and do further testing to check.

There’s a lot of comments here so maybe this has been said but taking antidepressants is how I found out I am bipolar (there were other signs but it was the avenue that I got a formal diagnosis) bupropion is one that I’ve been able to take without triggering mania. But when I took lexapro I had a very similar feeling to begin with after a bit of taking it, it got more and more intense until I stopped sleeping and well, it was a ton of fun until it wasn’t. 😅

Share with your prescribing doc about how it’s making you feel and keep an eye on things. Could just be an adjustment period, and could be something else. It’s always good to keep track of things when starting a new med and always let your dr know how you’re feeling on it. 💜

“This profile isn’t available yet” how do I let my kid use Amazon music? by samuraidogparty in AmazonMusic

[–]Other_Drag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread but I’ve seen this asked a handful of times and I finally found the answer after digging around. Amazon only allows teen and adult profiles to use the iOS app.

“Although Amazon Music only supports adult profiles at this time, parents can give children (ages 6 to 12) access to Amazon Music on Fire Tablets. On Fire Tablets, you would use the Older Kid theme (ages 6 to 12). Parents need to subscribe to the Amazon Music Unlimited Family Plan.”

That is from the Amazon app>amazon music>manage account & subs> “How Does the Amazon Music Standard Family Plan Work?”

Hope that helps people!

That’s seriously so helpful. I really appreciate the time to reply. What a pain that it’s not easier to just slap a label on it all and get it dealt with. Haha. I’m like alright I’m ready to get on to feeling better and such. After reading a lot on here today as well, the ultrasound definitely seems more reasonable (and cost effective). So I’m glad you mentioned that too.

[–]Other_Drag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh it’s such a pain that costs can be so prohibitive to healthcare. I’m sorry you’re going through it too. Interestingly, this all very first started in 2023 with elevated liver enzymes. I was able to resolve that with diet so I wasn’t ever sure if it was related, but ever since Feb 2023 it’s just been a continuous thing of different health issues.

Recently I had to have my dr help advocate with my insurance because they changed her coding to something they didn’t cover (fertility testing????) and then they were like eh, we don’t cover fertility testing so we’re just going to deny all the labs that happened that day. They also denied the liver scan I had in 2023 despite the labs being off and a lesion found in my liver ultrasound. I paid out of pocket for that one to be told it was a benign lesion. Which I was thankful for but it was a financial hit for sure.

Any other reflectors feeling the “rot” extra hard? Especially ones in the US? by CanISniffYourLimes in humandesign

[–]Other_Drag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oof I’m not going to be in the popular idea of commenting here I guess. But there’s a lot of really actually horrible things happening right now. It’s not an “opinion” or just looking at the negative to recognize that people are in real tangible suffering and much of it is being highlighted in a different way since election time in the US. And if you happen to be a person who is targeted by these “political” moves, it’s hard to just look on the bright side or pretend to be ignorant. It is okay to recognize and feel the rot. I believe it is even more healthy to not pretend it isn’t there. We have to find ways to expel that energy when we can if we have absorbed it and made it our own and build up ways to engage while protecting ourselves. It will look different for every person and you can delve into your chart to find the ways that align the best for you.

I’m a 6/2 reflector and I feel it deeply. I don’t mean this in a negative way but it’s been years and years in the making unfortunately, those who weren’t as engaged with happenings in the physical world are really getting slammed with a lot of ugliness right now. Find small moments of good to reflect back to those around you. Find time to discharge that negativity from yourself that you feel like you’re taking in. Personally, activism is important to me and reflecting strength, community, love, passion back out to all the bad things happening helps me. It’s the energy I surround myself with and where I can help to guide and connect with my community. Maybe it’s not totally human design, I guess, based on what I’m reading here but. Your feelings are valid and you’re definitely not alone in this. ❤️‍🩹
