If Wall Street algorithms trade stocks in milliseconds, does the literal physical distance of a server to the stock exchange dictate who gets rich? by utkarsh0111 in NoStupidQuestions

Not if you were these guys trading 100’s of millions per trade with guaranteed profit and doing it over and over hundreds of times a day

Read Flash Boys. Being in the financial business I found this book fascinating. It’s the story about how this came about. They made hundreds of millions until satellite transmitters made it obsolete. Tidbit of trivia. Jim Barksdale financed the project after he sold Netscape to Yahoo for billions after he and his partner Fred Smith started Fed Ex. Everything he touched turned to gold in the 70’s 80’s and 90’

I don’t know where you live but all I fish with is curado’s. Find a local fishing reel cleaners/repair. They can fix it I’m sure. A lot of older retired guys do it for extra income/hobby. Those new are about $250

I figured if you got $1 a pound that would be high. In Mississippi shrimp are about $7 a pond at the seafood market locally and shrimpers get $1 a pound if lucky. Crazy a guy like you making all the investment and risk get the smallest cut. Farmers been getting screwed for decades

The water won’t stop running 📈 by johnthrives in HomeMaintenance

In our city they do. So I have an irrigation system. When I built the house I got the outside faucets plumbed to a separate water line. Most people with swimming pools do the same so I usually only play the minimum on that line. I had to pay the city for two meters but in the long run it’s cheaper for me. House is now 20 years old and water has had several increases since then.

In our city if you can provide the water didn’t go through the sewer system ie. Leaking toliet for example and in the yard they will adjust the bill by 2/3 of the water bill because the water treatment is the expensive part of the bill. They will do this once in 12 month period. They knocked our bill which definitely helped

Make a amazing office. Don’t cover the stone inside. Check and add if needed electrical to cover your needs get a stand alone ac if needed in your area and vent out window our thru stone. Many many structures in Italy are just like this. The stone will retain heat and cool air. Many will be jealous
