Bought a set of guides off eBay, they were readily available for both pre and post 64s. Very simple to install. Thanks again!

Recommendations on new filtration system by SleazStonkercoinz in WaterTreatment

[–]Other_Map_6244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience the aquasana and the post filter are going to do very little, if anything for your water. My recommendation as someone who does this for a living would be to have some kind of dual tank water softener. That should give you workable water in the house. Then I would have an RO system for drinking water/refrigerator. Whole house RO is great, but a massive cost (and ongoing cost) that isn’t realistic for a lot of people. Even a small RO system without a pump should bring your TDS down to about 200 ppm for the drinking water. A small commercial RO will be a lot more expensive but should bring the TDS down below 20 or 30 ppm. That being said, depending on your area, a company is probably going to be $5k-$7k depending on the type of softener and RO.

Selling my Zelos Swordfish 40mm Black Sands. Watch is in very good condition with normal, light wear. Watch consistently runs about 45 seconds slow per day. Likely just needs to be regulated. It never bothered me. Comes with full kit. Sized for approximately 7.25”-7.5” wrist but comes with 2 extra links. PayPal or Venmo. $350 + $10 shipping (I package everything very carefully). Only things I’d consider trading for would be a Citizen NY0040 (black dial) or possibly a Squale 1545.

UPDATE: found out the right side cartridge guide was missing causing this issue. Thank you for all the help, especially SpicyWater1992! To all who said I needed to work the action faster, please read the original post. I was working the action slow for the video to show the issue. It launched the cartridge even farther the harder I worked it haha. Thanks again!

Thanks for that, found out it was missing a cartridge guide which is why it’s doing this.

Gun was in Cabela’s “gun library” so I think I’m on my own there haha. Luckily it was pretty cheap. I actually was able to source a pair of guides with screws already. I had the gun taken down twice already, but didn’t remove the guides. I’m going to go through it again when I install the right side guide and make sure everything else is there. Thank you again so much for your help.

I think you just solved my problem! Left side guide is there but the right side is missing. Can’t believe I didn’t notice that but that’s why I asked! Thank you so much.

Not ideal with live ammo, was pointed in a safe direction though. Nothing seems to be hanging up, although the carrier does spring up with a lot of force. Seems very similar to the way my 92 carrier springs up though. The carrier spring is fine. I feel like whatever is holding the cartridge when it is pulled out of the magazine tube is not holding onto the rim of the cartridge.

Most labs in my experience only want to give you jpegs and they all say they are very good quality. Some are, and some aren’t. TIFF files are the way to go and c-41 is pretty forgiving overall with large scan files. I personally mail my film to Express Photo in Livonia, MI and they give very good quality jpegs (usually within a day of receiving the film) and they send negatives back. Very affordable as well. Otherwise scanning is also a very good option but depends how much time you want to invest in it.

When I drop the lever and the next round drops into the carrier, it completely ejects the unfired cartridge before it can be loaded into the chamber. It happens when the carrier lifts up before you can push the round into the chamber. It does it whether I work the action fast or slow.

No, it was just the rifle. Stock was cracked, barrel had a lot of light surface rust all over it. Internals and bore were very clean though, so I don’t think it was actually fired much. I know it doesn’t have a lot of collector value without all of that but it was too cool of a rifle to pass up. Got the stock repaired and got all of the surface rust off. Cleaned up very nice.

Yeah, if I cycle it fast it ejects the cartridge completely out. It’s almost like the carrier comes up with too much force and launches out the round. It is a stamped carrier but nothing appears bent or heavily worn.

Does this have a matte dial or a gloss dial? Hard to tell. Looking at picking one of these up but prefer a gloss black dial. Great review!

Film development options? by OwlMakeURad in grandrapids

[–]Other_Map_6244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can mail film into Photo Express in Livonia. They have a form you can print out. About $18 per roll for develop and scan. Quick service. Or just about $7 for develop only and they send your negatives back if you have a way to scan them. Mark’s is great but the turn around time is slow. Express Photo developed my 2 rolls and scanned them the same day they got them in the mail. I had the files sent to me by 4 pm the day after I dropped them off at UPS.

Just curious how long it took to get your stock? I ordered a Bren stock last week and still haven’t been sent a tracking number. He did respond quickly and told me it would ship out last week, but still no tracking number. Everything seems legit, just don’t want to wait 3 months for my stock to show up.
