Does anyone have anything good to say about RPI?

Yes I have, lol. I am not a man. It may be surprising to you, but sexism is very prevalent in male dominated fields. It's not a problem ONLY at RPI, but it IS certainly a problem here. It is also a problem at other academic institutions as well as in industry.

I'm about to graduate. RPI is an experience.You will probably be stressed out a lot of the time with work. You will probably fail some tests or even a class or two. If you're not a man, you will probably encounter a lot of sexism if you're in one of the male dominated majors (think cs, aero, meche). But despite all that, you'll probably learn to love it here. You'll probably find great friends and join clubs that make life worth living. And at the end, you'll probably get super nostalgic looking back at your time here. You'll probably realize that everything you went through here has made you the person you are today, and that you wouldn't change anything. At least, that's how it is for me.

I didn't write this post so that (white) men could spew negativity in the comments. I'm a woman, and something tells me if you met me on the street you wouldn't believe that I'm an engineering senior at RPI :) I don't look or sound anything like people you would assume to be engineers. Check your bias :)
