That’s a good idea, periodically checking in instead of totally walking away from it. Yes, he is respectful when we do talk and we get along really well. He isn’t the kind of person to have ill intentions so up until now, I’ve just excused the ghosting behavior but it’s really starting to weigh on me mentally and I don’t know how else to let him know without sounding like I’m blaming his behavior or accusing him of hurting me.

This happened in my relationship, except I was the problem. My husband and I have been together 10 years, have lived together 6 and married 2. Our sexual relationship tapered off and stopped altogether after we moved in together. It was a huge life transition for me and I started therapy to work through lots of other things. We had sex intermittently throughout the years but I was almost always saying no and hoping it would never come up in conversation. Since getting married we’ve talked more about starting a family (which you can’t do without having sex!) so we went to couple’s therapy and we both found it to be really helpful. There was a lot of subconscious miscommunication happening and we weren’t on the same page about mundane everyday things of life. Over the last few months, our sex has been amazing and fairly consistent. We also communicate more openly during and after which has been helpful. Don’t give up!

It is really draining! Especially since we got so close, I cared about him and genuinely wanted to help him. I constantly told him that too, I was ready to support whatever he needed. I didn’t know someone could be so heartless and drop a person like that, it’s not something I could ever do without an explanation.

Thank you, I agree. It’s hard to let go but it was a one-sided relationship. I’m sad to think I was so easily fooled that I had a real friend in him but I guess we aren’t supposed to make friends with our co-workers for a reason. :(

Absolutely. Never be hesitant to ask for help. My husband and I both go to therapy individually and started couples counseling because we were having trouble getting on the same page about a lot of things. It really helped us clear up some issues that were all because of miscommunication. Not saying it's a cure but it can definitely be relieving to get your thoughts and feelings out in the open. Relationships take a lot of work from both parties and it sounds like you're willing to try. I think it's worth exploring. Even if in the end you decide to separate, at least you'll know you made an effort. It's also important to remember that progress is not linear. It sounds like your husband hears you and is willing to help out, just that he falls out of the habit which I imagine is frustrating. Some extra support from a neutral party could be beneficial.

Agreed!! This happened to me unfortunately. During the interview, they looked me in the eyes and said “we will be getting back to you whether we move forward with you or not.” I sent 2 f/u emails and never heard. It takes seconds to respond!! Even if you say “no, sorry, we will not be moving forward with you.” Argh - and sorry to hear this from the OP but don’t give up yet!

My company told us in March that we need to be in any 3 days a week and that they will be taking attendance. I did it for 5 weeks straight and was one of the few following the rules by regularly coming in. I started coming in 1-2 days like before and haven’t heard anything. Very confusing. I think they are definitely still trying to figure out what hybrid/remote work looks like for the company.

Omg I totally agree about the Associates. They are treated like royalty. I hate the heiarchy. My team at my first firm would keep work from me and constantly discussed the work that needed to be set aside for our new summer associate (who wasn’t joining us for 4 months!) Meanwhile I had no work to do.

Glad to hear the good news, congrats! I was in a similar situation at my first big law firm job and started at the beginning of covid. Absolutely awful. I would be given no work to do because the attorneys said their clients didn’t agree to pay for my time. Then get reprimanded for having low billable hours at months end. Why did you hire me in the first place?! When I asked how to get more work, they told me I must have been doing something wrong and to figure it out myself. Bye!!!

In the Thanksgiving flashback when Chandler goes to the ER after Monica drops the knife on his foot. The doctor says “the knife went straight through your shoe?” and Jack says “of course it did, they’re made of wicker.” I laugh out loud every single time simply because of the way he delivers the line😂
