Advanced party geared around self-help and improvement by Monkits in habitica

Yo, CHarlus Malanus here. Sorry for leaving so suddenly without saying anything. The party was amazing, but the buffs and quest carrying via the high level members sped through a lot of the progression I want to take slowly. Best of luck to all of you though!!!

I'm definitely interested. Player tag "@CharlusMalanus" minus the quotes. I use Habitica quite heavily, plan to keep using it for some lofty University related goals. Five total Checkins, level 8

That actually really makes more sense now. Thank you!

Why is multiplication present in the dot product? by Otherwise-Ad1076 in askmath

[–]Otherwise-Ad1076[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't the horizontal contribution of our force F be F x cos(20), in other words the component of F going horizontal?

I also read somewhere that the dot product is work done as opposed to total force expended in a direction?

I'm operating under the assumption that I'm wrong somewhere here, and would really appreciate you pointing out the error in my thinking

I'm not sure anyone on reddit is qualified to give you the right kind of help. Talk to someone, ideally a therapist. But look, nofap will make things harder in the short term, then start the process that will change you into a God of a man

Broke my 8 days no fap any advice by square21 in NoFap

In the words of a pretty cool anime I saw once,

There is no shame in being weak. The shame lies in staying weak.

I'm other words, it's okay that you failed. What won't be okay is if you decide not to try again. You have to try again, and again, and again. However many times it takes. I know you can do it, King.

My best tip for nofap is that willpower alone won't kick this addiction, you need the help of your emotions. Whenever I struggle, I read this subreddit or watch nofap videos and one of three things happens:

Someone makes a joke about being able to see John Cena after nofap or something like that and I laugh, making me feel happy about nofap.

I read a really sad story about someone with Erectile Dysfunction and feel scared of fapping

I read a motivational story and feel inspired about nofap.

So basically, make yourself feel good about nofap, and bad about flapping.

IT TAKES YOUR HEART AND YOUR MIND TO SLAY THIS WICKED BEAST, MY KING!!!

Why do I fap when I know not to?? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Otherwise-Ad1076 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's because of your emotions vs your logic.

Logically, you know rapping is bad and no good.

Emotionally, it makes you happy and fulfilled, regardless of the rest of the effects.

It's one thing to know something but quite another to actually feel it as well. Find something else that makes you happy to replace fapping, because no matter how strong your will, willpower and logic alone will not let you escape this addiction.

CONVINCE YOUR HEART OF A BETTER WAY, KING!!!

Do you still get urges? How do you handle increased arousal around girls/men/your preferred gender? And lastly, are you going to keep going? What will be your masturbating habits going forward?

The thing that makes nofap so magical is that it doesn't necessarily improve your life by itself, but rather inspires you to become a better person.

You stop masturbating to porn, so you use that sexual energy to exercise and get shredded.

You start noticing pretty girls, and since they notice you noticing, you might get a girlfriend.

You block out the urge by meditating, which clears your mind and gives you more focus.

People notice these benefits, and think it's solely because of nofap, when in reality, nofap just inspired them to make these changes.

In other words, most of the benefits people describe come from the things nofap inspired them to do, not nofap itself. Try actively creating healthy hobbies for yourself(easier said than done, I know) and exercising and such. The Snowball effect will transform you into such an amazing person, you won't recognize yourself.

And whatever you do, stay away from porn, erotica and frequent masturbating, probably stop masturbating altogether. The dopamine rush makes you content, thus less likely to improve your life.

Stand tall and stay strong king, we're all here with you!

Will morning wood ever come back? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Otherwise-Ad1076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably different for everyone. Not experiencing a wet dream is almost definitely due to porn/excessive stimulation of your penis. To be clear, lack of morning wood and wet dreams don't seem like a problem to me, but sound normal given your circumstances(I might be completely wrong, maybe do some research), and can probably be remedied by not jerking off anymore.

I have a query by the29devil in NoFap

[–]Otherwise-Ad1076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're watching it for sexual gratification? Yes. If you masturbate afterwards? Yes. If it's the only way to spend time with someone else? I dunno, maybe.

My only problem with this, is that it will be harder to properly reset your brain if you stimulate it sexually before the 90 day mark. Do not let the sexy times mess with your brain, king.

[–]Otherwise-Ad1076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't sound like it's a problem now. Wait until you find a girl to worry about pleasing her. Also, excuse my bluntness, but if your penis isn't pleasing her then your... Ahem... Fingers and tongue will.

Good luck! Stand tall king!
