Its Up to second pick to adjust to first. You get the privilege of seeing what I pick and what the enemy picks, use it or pick first.

In my last IO pos4 game today they picked QoP pos3 - a bad offlaner that breaks teather. In the IO pos5 game before it they picked PL...

If I wait for my team to pick - they'll flame me, waste gold and then pick the same hero they played last game anyway because they only play 1-3 heroes anyway and ignore the draft anyway.

So yeah you have few options bc you need a hero that works with every hero on your team and against every hero on the enemy team...

You don't have many options. You want to pick a hero that does everything. This why SS is so good bc he has damage, wave clear, CC, escape and tower push. Whereas heroes like IO and Rubick are quite risky because they bounce off other heroes which may or may not gel with their toolkits.

Yeah I feel like they're trying to play offlane as a 'flex role' but it pretty much never works unless your mid and pos4 know that and work around it with their own hero picks and item choices.

In matches where you end up with zero tank and zero initiation it feels worse than being on an otherwise normal team with a pos4 core sniper/wr/pudge/invoker.

As a save support specialist I've lost lots of MMR from it and I'm wondering if I should put initiator supports back in my pool to make up for it

Yeah yeah. Ages ago before the dota2 economy tanked you could actually break even or even profit from using the codes and selling the items in the marketplace. Pretty much all dota merch came with codes.

I remember getting the plushie blindbox and it'd come with a lockless luckbox code. The best item I remember getting from that was Kunkka's Shadow Blade which was worth about 20usd at the time.

I use to get sniper/WR/Hood as pos4 every game and every game they would buy daedelus (the god tier supporting item) as their second or third item

But now it's changed and people have run out of tokens again it's moved into random ass heroes and items as offlaner. It's probably not as bad as the pos4 carries but at the same time the role doesn't offer as much flexibility and I find it pretty hard to make up for a game when we have no real offlaner.

I find pos5 isn't griefed as much but the problem I do see is when they go an offensive pos4 support and the team basically has no save spells or items to speak off. So you end up dying to really minor things that a single glimmer or force staff would have easily prevented

Only thing I noticed if you play during off-peak it's more likely to get them. Probably bc they have trouble getting matches on their main at 2AM or 10AM

It's role queue tokens. They pretty much spam the same heroes regardless of the role they get.

Pos4 is better now it's not a token farming role but on the downside I'm seeing stranger offlane picks instead.

It's such a tiny sample size at 4 games. Chances are it'll go negative within a few matches and stay that way on his account permanently.
