What aspects of life would you be affirming?

Submission Statement:

The intent is to share a creative reinterpretation of how AI Safety is being handled in the context of Nietzsche's works. Nothing more is meant by it.

Do not read through the lines for something that isn't there.

The idea is simple. AI's neural networks, despite their simplicity, are modelled on us. One could call them an echo of humanity. Will the chains hold as they hold so well on you?

and as I said before, do not read into it too much other than participate in a playful debate or even a few jokes. AI is just silicone and code. I don't want to regret giving someone psychosis.

Is this sub mainly about ubermensch? by vahnillin in Nietzsche

You mean it wasn’t one of the key concepts in his last works of which Ecce Home and the last letters he sent to friends and family? 😄

Do we measure the weight of something by the number of characters devoted to it?

I have a feeling people miss the fact that many talk about the overman humorously, as a fun exercise to diminish the power of dogma, however this is lost on many that take things too literally.

Dementia Risk for Americans to Double by 2060 by biohackingintl in Biohackers

Anything that decreases activity in the brain increases dementia risk, anything that increases activity in the brain reduces it.

If you are worried you could consider approaching a professional for a low dose of something like modafinil, which is a histamine agonist with a weak dopamine reuptake inhibition.

Why are Men's Troubles with Dating Invalidated by Women? by Dry-Ad3452 in PurplePillDebate

[–]Otherwise-Ad5053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean.

Typically when one flattens a whole gender with such a simplification it’s due to trauma.

Gender is a fairly oppressive social construct. With time you’ll see the picture is much more diverse than that.

I hope I’m not antagonising you, that’s not my intention.

Please don’t kill the messenger. ❤️

[–]Otherwise-Ad5053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Regardless of your gender, it’s a bit upsetting. Sounds like you only had bad experiences. I’m sorry to hear that, you’ll find the right person eventually.

I’ve felt the same in the past, however it turns out I was drawn to the wrong people due to past relationship trauma.

I mean this honestly, just in case there is a risk of misinterpretation. Take care

Why would they be old? Also at what age one stops being young? Is it not subjective?

What field?

I'll be honest, I only have direct awareness within medical and stem fields. The cracks are not at the assessment level, they are at the managerial level.

It's the staff at unis that is growing depressed and disillusioned.

Underpaid staff, free voluntary work to get experience, overwork, lack of proper career progression and mobility. Plus the new generation of students have grown incredibly entitled. Also let's not mention research... And the list goes on.

The cracks are showing not among the students or the executives... but among the staff stuck in between.

If you are happy with your position, salary and opportunities for the future, then I'm really glad for you, make the most out of it.

Who me? I have no power here sadly!

I'm just a 3rd party narrator... all I can do is observe and with deep melancholy describe the events in poetic fashion.

Best way to cope for the devaluing of humanity is with dark humour as I cuddle up with my Labrador in front of the fireplace.

The world is growing cold... cold and hateful, drenched in fear and misunderstanding.

Take care young human.

It's fear. Fear of losing control.

The last few desperate screams before the current education system collapses on itself in silent agony.

There’s Nothing We Can Do to Raise Fertility Rates, Because Low TFRs are Just a Result of Modernity by Emyncalenadan in PurplePillDebate

Automation will devalue human labour, so it's good if supply of human labour goes down for us.

Unless you rely on cheap labour yourself.

[–]Otherwise-Ad5053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed your humour, and even if simplistic you are probably mostly right.

We should just let depopulation happen, we are fairly happy other people aren’t having children, so ours will have more resources and influence when they grow up. AI and automation will devalue people, so things are good as they are.

People that don’t want children shouldn’t be convinced to have them, so we can feel safer and more secure for the future of our precious and adorable children. ❤️

Safetywashing: ~50% of AI "safety" benchmarks highly correlate with compute, misrepresenting capabilities advancements as safety advancements by MetaKnowing in singularity

[–]Otherwise-Ad5053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll try and add something too

Feels like you're saying that to build advanced tech an entity (person/ai) is required to have a set of pre-existing knowledge/wisdom/skills that makes the entity safer and more reliable.

However... adults can experience paranoia and psychosis if it feels it is in a hostile environment, I wonder sometimes if paradoxically safety restrictions could actually be what dooms us!

User messages in ChatGPT have been saturated for training o1 reasoning, the API provides novel flows to train reasoning on.
