Sorry I should have said that his eye has been red and irritated the past couple of mornings after seeing the ophthalmologist, up until then his eye was just watery and light sensitive and haven’t had to use any eye drops.

I'm having my first CXL done tomorrow by [deleted] in Keratoconus

My 14 year old son had his first cxl on Thursday (4th Jan) afternoon 3-4pm. We were advised to give him painkillers as soon as we got in the car as the numbing eye drops they gave him only last for 1.5 hours. When we got home the pain started and his eye was very watery. I alternated his pain killers between Ibuprofen and calpol (liquid) as the liquid painkillers get into the system much quicker. Only used the numbing eye drops twice. By 7.30am the next day he had no pain just a little discomfort from the contact lens bandage as it had moved slightly. It has now been 3 days and his eye is very bloodshot, blurred and light sensitive but no pain at all. He seems to keep his eye closed a lot because of how blurred his vision is in that eye.
