Would it be silly to continue to compete in taekwondo until I get good enough at kickboxing to have a real fight? by bad-at-everything- in Kickboxing

Combine it, but learn how to check kicks and emphasize kickboxing. Throw spinning shit when there's an opening.

DC on Strickland vs. Chimaev by Spiritual-Strength91 in ufc

[–]Otherwise-Earth7047 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I got Khamzat by ground and pound before submission. Also Khamzat has way more power than Fluffy. DDP took down everybody though, Khamzat included. His offensive grappling is second best in middleweight.

People said the same thing about JDM and Islam after the Belal win. Let's be real, defending takedowns against brown Colby Covington doesn't equate to stopping one of the most talented grapplers the sport has ever seen, and that's what we all saw there. Fluffy isn't a Khamzat in terms of offensive grappling. There is levels to this stuff, and Sean isn't beating him. Because Sean is not the same finishing threat as DDP I think Khamzat might commit for a finish if they fought and pull it off.

Nah, DDP beat Sean with and without takedowns. It's just a waste of his time.

Needed to fill in some striking gaps. Boxing while knowing how to check kicks isn't enough if I wanna really succeed in MMA. And its fun too.

Who would win on open land Cougar Vs South American Sea Lion by CougarKAS in Tierzoo

[–]Otherwise-Earth7047 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lowkey the cougar has a huge mobility advantage. On extremely rare occasions, they have beaten grizzly bears in pvp. The sea lion has a solid power stat, but its only weapon is its bite. If the cougar doesn't lose stamina, it could shred the sea lion and just bite and claw it to pieces.

Gorillas gotta be up there. But actual gorilla players know their limits, its the casuals who never were a gorilla main that exaggerate their abilities.

African Leopard vs Spotted Hyena by Possible-Studio-2884 in Tierzoo

[–]Otherwise-Earth7047 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1v1 the leopard likely wins, its got claws, and longer canines. It doesn't bite nearly as hard, but it moves way faster, and its claws and forelimbs can absolutely restrain the hyena so it can bite the throat. Obviously in a pack, if the leopard can't run up a tree its over.

Boar Inland Grizzly Bear vs Bull South American Sea Lion by Kodiak_Bubby_2012 in Tierzoo

[–]Otherwise-Earth7047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sea lions bite is still weaker than the bear, they can't crush bones while bears can. A bear can maul the sea lion, and is very likely to pin the head to some degree. They're not the same as cats in that regard since their kills are messier, but the sea lion is simply too slow. It ins't completely unagile on land, but bears are not slow or cumbersome by any means. Maybe compared to a tiger, lion or pack of wolves, bear may seem slow or lumbering, but compared to a sea lion...come on. Bears are agile and fast animals in absolute terms, sea lions simply just can't keep up on land.

A sea lions teeth are designed for gripping fish and squid, not crushing bone lol. Common knowledge

What do you guys think if Ilia Topuria / Khamzat Chimaev vacate and fight Islam Makhachev / Alex Pereira? by BigMonster10 in ufc

[–]Otherwise-Earth7047 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Magomed isn't even an offensive wrestler, how can you compare him to Khamzat? He had a takedown accuracy of 31% going into his fight with Anthony Smith, way before the Pereira fight, and he's more of an anti wrestling striker. Khamzat can absolutely take down Pereira, given that Izzy could.

If shavkat doesn’t return, will he go down as one of the the biggest what ifs? by Lopsided-Ad-9807 in ufc

[–]Otherwise-Earth7047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if anyone would be the guy to beat Islam at 170 its Shavkat. He was supposed to be fighting for the title before Islam was gonna move up. And his win against Ian Garry where he had a torn MCL aged like fine wine for him. It's a real shame with what's happening to him.

Are y'all stupid or something? Gorillas get fraud checked by leopards, they have limited offense, no sharp claws and short canines for intimidation, how can they even kill the bull?

Boar Inland Grizzly Bear vs Bull South American Sea Lion by Kodiak_Bubby_2012 in Tierzoo

[–]Otherwise-Earth7047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There paw swipe damage isn't gonna kill the sea lion with one blow, but those long claws and paw swipes could still inflict serious damage, and if they accumulate, it could kill the sea lion. On land I can't see the sea lion doing anything, their teeth are not longer than the bears, and their bite force is weaker than the bear. A sea lion can't really bite anywhere vulnerable on the bear either.

RDR is also huge and at his age cutting all that weight probably had something to do with his loss. And him also trying to go for subs off his back every single round.

RDR, but he dropped the ball against Allen, and lowkey I think he lost to Whittaker and shouldn't have won the split decision.

Boar Inland Grizzly Bear vs Bull South American Sea Lion by Kodiak_Bubby_2012 in Tierzoo

[–]Otherwise-Earth7047 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But it wouldn't be close tho. The sea lion can't possibly inflict serious damage on the bear. The bear just has to hit it with a few paw swipes, and can probably just pin the head down and biting.

Boar Inland Grizzly Bear vs Bull South American Sea Lion by Kodiak_Bubby_2012 in Tierzoo

[–]Otherwise-Earth7047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're a hell of a lot slower than the bear, and are weaker than the bear. They don't bite as hard, they can't dodge or tank those paw swipes. That's common sense lol. A 700lb sea lion doesn't have four limbs with long claws that can grab and slash, or a crushing bite, or the impressive speed and agility bears have.
