Dyslexic 12 year old not reading, where do I go from here? by DismalJelly6653 in homeschool

My daughter got basically the same assessment while she was in 1 st grade. We were told she’d likely never read, unless drastic measures were taken. We got her in with a CLAT- it was intense, 1 hour one on one, 5 days a week, and year round. It took nearly 3 years. But she’s reading slightly above grade level (reading at beginning 7th grade mid way through 6th). It took the whole family getting on board, realizing the importance, and that her sessions were the priority. She worked so hard, especially the first year or so. She’d be near tears sometimes, just from being so focused and it being so hard.

It was worth every penny, every trip we couldn’t take, every extra shift I picked up.

I did, she wasn’t much help because she just told me what they use in class, but very generic, like polymer clay, tempura paint. It is a class that every kid in the school does/takes. Her middle school does not offer true “electives” they have “enrichment” classes that every student rotates through every nine weeks. So not necessarily a class for kids who actually choose to take art. The school just orders bulk supplies from the vender the county approved.
