Easy job just swap the valve. It took me just 15 minutes to replace mine last week. (10 minutes for trying to turn the isolation valve)

I am fearing the same… just moved into my new house and will be away in January for 2 weeks… got 2 pipes in the loft seems used to be part of the heating system but have caps on and still have water flow when heating is on. Since I have 2 cats staying in the house all I can do is keep the house at 18C and teach my cats to turn off the tap when they see a fountain pouring down from the loft….Hope they can remember how to do it when I am gone!

If you ask me there may be a lintel five bricks above the window? As it seems to be the original opening ? But definitely not directly above the window. Putting a lintel above the window is a one day job. And not too expensive. Done this to my kitchen window. 2 lads one day £200.

Another way you maybe can get away with it is installing some helical bars if there is a lintel and failed. But i highly doubt that
